/biz/, Junior Finance Major in college here.

Its hitting me that I've wasted my first two years of college partially due to a sort of nervousness but also due to uncertainty. I didn't waste it messing around, it was largely self improvement stuff that ate up my time, but its helped me very little in furthering my career.

I don't want to become a wagecuck, how do I end up in the top 10% of finance majors. This isn't just me asking for advice but I wanted to make a resource thread for others in similar situations.

From people who've either made it in the industry or know how to make it, where do I begin. I've got a good internship opportunity and want to start networking in clubs but what are top employers looking for?

Idk whether I should start by reading through something like Wall Street Oasis or go for Math, whether I should just try to network a shit ton over the next two years or go for an MBA. How difficult will this be if I'm just starting now?

Post any relevant info on how to get out of the wagecuck trap I don't want to end up in some 50k a year analyst job. Worst comes to worst I'll join the army or something, but ideally I want to get myself into a position where I could get a job at a big investment bank or even a hedge fund. I'm not opposed to doing international stuff either if thats high paying.
