It is literally cheaper for them to spend money on fud articles and perhaps even dump BTC and get redditors to sell off their 20-300 Link stacks than it is to buy market or accumulate market due to slippage on just how many tokens they want. If they all bought in, it'd be 100$ in no time. They dont want to do that.

After the conference yesterday it's clear. getting Ari on board is definitely a sign that Sergey is eager to try crack the problem quickly though. He likely couldn't afford to hire him before this pump.

I seems they may be close to solving low level staking for simple smart contracts like we have now on DeFi, but anything more complicated, he hinted is going to require quite a complicated mechanism to prevent attacks and vulnerabilities - which they still haven't figure out how to solve, hence the new Chainlink Labs and hiring of Ari to try figure it out ASAP.

It may be that we see basic staking for things soon, but it could be a couple years or more till the more complex smart contracts which are really exciting are possible.
