Made my own coin for the lolz. I need graphic designers though, and maybe some web designers. The code is done, network is up and hashing, I have a domain, and a github page, i have everything, just need miners.

Name: TurtleCoin
Algorithm: Cryptonote - ASIC resistant, same algo as monero, aeon and bytecoin
time:30 second block time - made by and for miners.
Econ: Two decimal places like USD
Supply Cap: Plenty.
Github is up too. Every wallet address starts with "TRTL". currency code is TRTL.
Zero premine, ninjamine, instamine, anything mine.

Official Communications:
www.turtlecoin.lol
discord.turtlecoin.lol
twitter.turtlecoin.lol
github.turtlecoin.lol

HELPERS NEEDED:
PR Team
Graphics Team
Mining Pool Operators (compatible with monero/aeon/bytecoin mining tools and pools)
Windows Dev to compile builds
Apple Dev to compile builds

Linux based for now, but I'm including the source code so anybody with apple or docker or windows Visual Studio can compile it and ask for a donation if they like.

Just to kick things off, dubs gets the discord link, trips gets the binaries released for everyone to start mining. I'll be adding us to bittrex as soon as the network hash rate is up and stable enough to submit the application.

It's always the way. A coin like Turtle Coin gets successful and all of a sudden people start spreading FUD.

For your information, Turtle Coin is an Asic Resistant, super fast, low fee cryptocurrency with masternodes backed by a team of 16 professionals from China.

They already have deals in place with Blockbuster, Enron and Pan Am Airlines.

This thing is mooning heavily on coinsmarkets and yobit. It will be $50 in about 25 minutes time. If you don't like money don't buy it.

In a mass surveillance world we must develop and promote new approaches to further decentralize and emancipate cryptocurrencies.

Turtle Coin uses advanced mathematical analysis and innovative ideas to empower
end-users with true privacy, both financial and personal.

We need to share our ideas to shift the current global paradigm through cryptography and egalitarianism rather than fight and complain about things.

Be part of the solution. Be part of the Turtle Coin Family.

take the release and just run the binarys instead
building git might be confusing if you havent done that before

just open a terminal in the directory
create a wallet:
./simplewallet
press G then enter the file name for the wallet(life wallet.dat) to create and enter the password for the wallet
then launch the daemon to fetch the blockchain
./Turtlecoind
when its done the simplewallet will be synced and you can start mining
./miner --address (address of the wallet you have generated with the simplewallet)

Lol the winfags in this thread

>30 second block time
Imagining this ever got anywhere wouldn't you get a shit ton of stale shares?

Could you explain what stale shares are for a brainlet?

>> No.4913218

when you mine you try to solve a puzzle before somebody else does and if somebody else solves the puzzle before you do you have to start from the beginning because you have to add the newly solved puzzle

the work you have to discard to be up to date is stale

When you send a share after the block has already been solved. You either don't get paid, or you get paid less, in the case of coins like ether (uncles)

In normal operation, this shouldn't be an issue. Let's say it did happen though for some reason, high latency or whatever, then luckily youd have another block coming in 30 seconds or less. The conditions that would cause that problem are the same redardless of block time. What we'd have an issue with, however, is a large amount of chain re-orgs until we have a higher global hash rate that is steadier.

>> No.4913318

>>4913228
>>4913218
So I imagine that because of the rapid turnover, there will be more stale shares than in a coin with slower block times like bitcoin?

Is that really a problem with the internet connections we have nowadays? Wouldn't it help process a lot of transactions rapidly (something bitcoin isn't good at atm)?

>> No.4913334

>>4913228
If you sent the share after a block was solved, I don't think you'd be paid anything because you aren't forging the next block. I could be misunderstanding, I only got a few hours sleep last night and am cooking breakfast at the moment. We have hardforks planned as upgrades, like monero does, so block time can be adjusted later if it becomes troublesome before the global hash rate goes up.

>> No.4913351

>>4913318
The best way to fight that from happening is to run your own daemon to mine toward, that way you don't have a whole lot of latency between you and the work.

you dont get anything but pools allow for compensation of stale shares

Is that not what uncle blocks are? https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/34/what-is-an-uncle-ommer-block

Or is that just when your stale share actually solves a block, just later than the other block?

I'll check it out. A pool that works well with us is node-cryptonote-pool if anybody wants to get one up for our first mining pool. It will eventually become a necessity to pool our resources though so I see this as inevitable as we go that people will make a few pools the way aeon pools are exploding right now

as far as just a one click executable, I'm not sure youll find that. node-cryptonote-pool is fairly simple to set up though, maybe we could approach some AEON pool operators

This is my first time mining any cryptocurrency and I have to say, it was really easy to set up (for someone who already is comfortable with linux, etc).

I really don't care if these will be worth anything. I'll run a miner for a month, easy. It's worth the $5/month server costs just for the lulz.
