I'm looking at the Belgian stock exchange they have some interesting but undervalued firms.

Still on the basics, got a few UK large caps, should probably diversify to some higher risk stuff but I'm a bit cautious of going after EM right now.

Just the locks really: Shire, Rio Tinto, Barclays etc.

Nah, haven't really looked into fixed income. Luckily last year was good for the investor naively holding large US/UK equity, I think I need to step my game up going into 2014 however.

All right you know to stay away from Energy companies in Europe right? Well if you don't you do now (I have a friend who is secretary at the EU.) things are not going to get easy for them.

Yeah I'm steering well clear of the Eurozone. I'm still pretty happy about the outlook for the UK in general, the US seems a good bet for 2014 too but those two are very safe. I'd like to get some more risky small cap and emerging market bets going. EM seems dangerous right now but I guess thats where the good value is going to be if you pick it right

Well there Eurozone still has very interesting markets. Most of them are bouncing back. The Retail sector in Belgium has some strong undervalued players, look into Colruyt and Albert hein (dutch). In my opinion I wouldn't focus too much on the USA they tend to be pretty optimistic with their forecasts. Also the fucking fed is being unclear about their future plans.
