In server, unit shipments grew by a double-digit percentage sequentially and more than tripled year-over-year, as we continue gaining momentum across cloud, enterprise and HPC customers. We saw particular strength with cloud providers, introducing new instances and accelerating current deployments.

Microsoft Azure, Google and IBM all announced new offerings powered by second-generation EPYC processors, highlighted by Google launching multiple general purpose VMs and Microsoft rolling out an all AMD virtual desktop offering that also includes Radeon Instinct GPUs.

Several cloud providers accelerated their infrastructure deployments to address rising demand from the growing number of users working and schooling from home. For instance, one of our large cloud customers was able to deploy 10,000 2nd Gen EPYC servers in less than 10 days to support the surge in demand for their collaboration services.

My strategy is to adapt to market changes and come up with a new strategy when your current one stops working. Pre-crash, options were my strategy. A couple months after the bottom I started playing options again and was doing all right, up a couple thousand from a 1K account. Now I'm back to buying and holding. I went mostly in on tech this week because I figured the antitrust hearings wouldn't amount to jack shit, and I wanted to own more Apple before they launched augmented reality in a few years. Best not to play options right now unless you're really, really good at predicting intraday price action, because we can get random-ass selloffs at just about any point.

I study price action on previous days and try to predict intraday behavior based on behavior at open, or into the late morning. Mostly stick with two or three stocks and follow sentiment as closely as possible.

I stopped doing this when I bought calls right before that giant selloff we got three Mondays ago or whenever it was. The Governor Newsom California closure news selloff. When the market can just be piledriven like that based on a bit of bad news you can't reliably judge "price action" anymore, so thinking only in longer terms is your best bet.

TA isn't actually that horrible, I'm exaggerating a little here, but it's not foolproof either, and the blind trust people place in technicals mostly has to do with confirmation bias

here's a hint: the reason why the EMA(20/50/200) and the VWAP and support/resistance levels are significant isn't because they're "magic lines". it's because everyone, especially institutions, considers them to be significant and that is reflected in the price action. this is most important on stocks where there is high relative volume so real people are mostly the ones trading it, not just robots. even still, even the highest probability setup can fail, and that is why you have appropriately set stop losses and take profit levels, and you have a profitable winrate over many trades not just one or two.

I believe support and resistance levels are significant, but neither VWAP nor moving averages reliably determine the future price behavior of an equity. Sorry, they just don't. They're not meaningless, but believing TA gives you any kind of probabilistic advantage is just wishful thinking and superstition. You can keep thinking wishfully and being superstitious if you want though.

>hope you had a stop loss for your news-driven bullshit or whatever instead of losing half your shit

I only bet relatively small amounts, so I didn't end up losing that much. As long as you cut your losses at your exit points, you can minimize the damage. This has absolutely nothing to do with TA.

I use Robinhood for on the go buy and sell, and don't day trade much so it's fine for me. Robinhood makes a lot of money off of super frequent traders though. Especially these penny stock dudes that most retail broker folks don't even bother looking at.

He's using it for TA though apparently, which makes no sense. Anybody can jump on tradingview or something.

Obviously. I thought maybe you were on EMA or something, but all the MAs I tried converge to about the same value currently (this does suggest reversal is coming, but it's far from being the time to sell yet). Also, you're supposed to act upon this if the daily CLOSES under/over the MA, not at a random time during the day, but that's basically a formality.

i guess we can just agree to disagree then. im still making money. i guess you are too with whatever you do so it doesn't matter, but we've reached an impasse. we can't really have a conversation that just consists of "it is significant" "no it isn't" "yes it is" "no it isn't" "yes it is", so do whatever you want. but i have a TA system i day trade with that i've developed and make a living off of, idk what else to tell you. if you're trading for much longer timeframes i'll at least agree with you that TA is far more important intraday while the longer the timeframe the more important FA becomes instead, but the market can be irrational for a long time and everything is ultimately reflected in the price action regardless.

Nvidia Corp. is in advanced talks to acquire Arm Ltd., the chip designer owned by SoftBank Group Corp., according to people familiar with the matter.

The two parties aim to reach a deal in the next few weeks, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information is private. Nvidia is the only suitor in concrete discussions with SoftBank, according to the people.

A deal for Arm could be the largest ever in the semiconductor industry, which has been consolidating in recent years as companies seek to diversify and add scale. Cambridge, England-based Arm’s technology underpins chips in products including Apple Inc. devices and connected appliances. SoftBank acquired the business for $32 billion in 2016.

No final decisions have been made, and the negotiations could drag on longer or fall apart, the people said. SoftBank may gauge interest from other suitors if it can’t reach an agreement with Nvidia, the people said. Representatives for Nvidia, SoftBank and Arm declined to comment.

Any deal with Nvidia, which is a customer of Arm, would likely trigger regulatory scrutiny as well as a wave of opposition from other users of the company’s technology. Other Arm clients could demand assurances that a new owner would continue providing equal access to Arm’s instruction set. Such concerns resulted in SoftBank, a neutral company, buying Arm the last time it was for sale.

>The final feature is the most important: low inflation. The absence of upward pressure on prices means there is no immediate need to slow the growth of central-bank balance-sheets or to raise short-term interest rates from their floor around zero. Low inflation is therefore the fundamental reason not to worry about public debt, which, thanks to accommodative monetary policy, now costs so little to service that it looks like free money.

I think chasing ultra leverage is foolish though and in the end doesn't work out for the MAJORITY of people.
