>linking HTTP to foolz
use https fool
https://archive.foolz.us/biz

also use HTTPS everywhere
I'll be contributing a rule for the git repo to force HTTPS for foolz with that extension

WHAT?

ugh
https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere
it makes you use secure connections that can't be eavesdropped to 4chan and a lot of other sites
I have made the instructions for an future version of the extension to always connect to the foolz archive securely

Is this the archive or not?>>17377

allow me to explain
>http://archive.foolz.us/biz
you view the archive insecurely
your internet provider, other people on your network, the NSA..can all see your traffic and what you search/post on there
>https://archive.foolz.us/biz
a third party can tell by IP that you're connecting to foolz, but can't see anything else

HTTPS everywhere is a chrome/firefox extension that makes sure you always use the HTTPS (Secure) verison of a site
If you visit an HTTP version of a site, HTTPS everywhere will automatically put you on the secure one
this makes it harder for governments, internet providers, etc. to track your browsing and posting habits.

get it now?

What if the server i connect to does not support the https protocol protocol?

HTTPS Everywhere supports "rules". Rules tell HTTPS everywhere what sites HTTPS can be forced on..

For instance, all of the Foolz archive can have HTTPS Everywhere (I have written the rule and tested it, and it works - I will be submitting it for inclusion in a future version of the extension). There is a rule for all of 4chan in the current version of the extension - there are dozens of rules.

There is an option to try to force HTTPS and allow a downgrade to HTTP if the site doesn't support it. However, HTTPS Everywhere works on a whitelist basis on the rules, so unless a rule exists, it won't try to force HTTPS.

There is a rule built in to try HTTPS on every single site and then only use HTTP if it doesn't work, but that's disabled by default.
