What's a Fish's Favorite Day? edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Got a $1000 one year ride from AMZN

Sold half my crap in September though, and now hoping to buy the next huge AMZN dip, if they drop enough

AMZN was over 33% of my portfolio, and the gains we're good
But the liquidity from selling it has been comfy, and now I don't have a single stock that can rise or fall $100 in a day, so that's nice

He's right though. However, the fear wasn't about a potential crash (outside of the doomer contingent). It was fear that the relatively strong economy could not endure the rapid rate hikes by the fed. Fear that the fed was behaving irrationally + the trade negotiation situation providing kindling to the uncertainty.

Now I'm not saying the indices won't/can't eventually drop down to 2018 low this year. The fear remains and a couple sufficiently bearish news events could easily snap the current rally in half. I'm keeping my stop losses tight until government shutdown ends and some kind of China deal gets hashed out.

if we're taking universal healthcare for example it literally costs less than our current healthcare system. And generally once universal programs get instituted they get their own constituency defending them, hence the inability to destroy social security.

If food stamps benefited everyone or some other program that provided a bare minimum of nutrition, for example, you'd probably have a lot less people bitching about it.

The benefit and savings from a single payer healthcare comes from the better negotiating position for drug prices and the removal of all the bureaucracy of insurance companies. Sanders beat hillary in most blue states where she lost to trump (see michigan primaries)
we really need a viable third party already, its just getting sad at this point

2016 election went perfectly (considering Bernie was not allowed to run on a major ticket, because "its her turn")

now we have three fantastic possibilities for 2020

>republican party revolts, Trump runs as third party candidate (and wins, or wins at least 30% of the votes)

or

>moderate republican runs as third party candidate, wins 20-30% of vote

or

>democratic party splits in half, mainstream democrat candidate gets 15% or more of the votes, while another democratic candidate runs as third party, also getting at least 15% of the votes (extra far left, or extra centerist but still technically left, doesnt really matter which)

in the grand scheme of things, 2020 is shaping up to be a great year, regardless of the presidential winner

would it really be that hard for him? I feel jeffersonian in my liberalism. He hasn't fundamentally gutted entitlements like medicare and social security the way Paul Ryan wanted, and well forced the former speaker to step down and leave office. The fact remains, Trump and his populist agenda for the American country at large is pissing off people from both sides of the aisle. His biggest problem right now will be his biggest asset in 2 years and it is the fact Democrats are being obstructionist and moving the goal post. So he can very easily win reelection in 2020.

If Sanders was elected and was genuinely capable of curtailing capitalist accumulation yes you could expect stock market valuations to suffer because it'd mean the demand for investment assets would decrease as spending would increase. Initial spooks will also play a role, as will universal programs and decomodification hurt certain industries. That said, i wouldn't be surprised if bond yields became better if there is a secular increase in government borrowing.

lmao!! just trade the trade!! don't get caught up in his target.. Keep your fucking target.. once you get what you want either
A. sell and move on
B. trade it some more.

I think what i might do is sell some shares at my price target(won't tell another living soul my actual target) then once i do that i'll open some put positions while riding the rest of my long position to my "over expected target"

LCI has huge potential!! pretty sure it'll swing around for a bit though which will provide good opportunity if you don't get emotional

he won't be able to leave with a profit anytime soon.. he'll need it much higher.. not only will he need it much higher but he'll need the liquidity there... also.. i'm pretty sure his buddies own a shit load of it..... Thats not even including the institutions that hold over 85% of the shares.. they're going to want A LOT of liquidity.... you cant just set up a wall to sell.. bids will disapear.. Imo there's a huge running coming for LCI.. like huge as fuck!!.. also slick hair man i saying there will probably be a gap up to 11.. he won't be able to sell at 11 he will want it to run to atleast midteens-highteens before he starts selling.. he needs bids to build and so do big institutions.... right now the slow climb with low volume is just bringing in more shorts.. let them short it.. let the weak hands sell off and let the strong take control of that shit and run it beast mode!!!
