dimitri Roche (most active dev) is down to only 6 commits for all of June.

Rory leaving to go full time IDEX

Chainlink still needs aggregation, consensus, reputation, repuation providers, and much more (approx 6-8 months of work) then testing and audits (2-3 months)

Once the ropsten node can see a request for data, fetch offline data, aggregate that data w/ other nodes, come to a consensus with other nodes, post the result to blockchain, earn and penalize link, earn a reputation with reputation providers....then you can buy in because you have about 3 months of audits and testing before main net.

Icebox has 117 tasks ( about a year worth but not all completely necessary for main net so lets say 6 months worth)

Ask again how link is doing in june 2019. We should definitely be close to main net and hopefully be able to breach a $1 soon after.

and still confirmed on the project. which has a confirmed private repository. which is confirmed to be working on the non-node portions of the project
>Rory leaving to go full time IDEX
rory is the community manager and a volunteer. he means nothing to the overall project. at some point they will hire a professional community guy, just like they hired kochis. top notch talent under the radar
>Chainlink still needs aggregation, consensus, reputation, repuation providers, and much more (approx 6-8 months of work) then testing and audits (2-3 months)
looking at current progress this is more like a month. which may have already happened off the public github. like the sgx backend work
>Once the ropsten node can see a request for data, fetch offline data, aggregate that data w/ other nodes, come to a consensus with other nodes, post the result to blockchain, earn and penalize link, earn a reputation with reputation providers....then you can buy in because you have about 3 months of audits and testing before main net.
once a fully functional test net is out with reputation and consensus functions you'll see who is planning launch products, and you'll be buying less than 20% the link you can now. this will likely happen after an mvp, eg mainnet
>Icebox has 117 tasks ( about a year worth but not all completely necessary for main net so lets say 6 months worth)
which are confirmed all not necessary, including a lot of "nice to haves" looking at the current rate of clearance of icebox versus new generation it would indicate a testable product q3 2018, mainnet whenever they feel they've tested enough
>Ask again how link is doing in june 2019. We should definitely be close to main net and hopefully be able to breach a $1 soon after.

Everyone knows there are a lot of Link holders who like to spread fud. The reasons vary from accumulating, angsty/edgy teens, to simple autism.

There are others who don't believe the fud and have decided for one reason or another to not purchase Link. Some may still find it to be an interesting project and some may find the threads to be annoying. There is a good chance that some have also purchased a small stack of suicide insurance, but not necessary if they are still confident in their positions.

Then, there are the absolute brainlets of this board. These few, unfortunate retards are the ones who actually believe all of the fud and pasta. Worse yet, they even continue to spread it while thinking that they are intellectually superior to those who choose to hold Link. It is sad at first, but after you see the opportunities they've had to see the truth, you stop feeling bad for them and unironically hope that they stay poor forever.

This.

That chainlink writeup that got posted a little while ago did a good job of discussing this.

WTF is the point of fudding chainlink on biz? I mean OTHER THAN just to be a dick. It's not like some NEET spending a few hundred bucks is going to drive the price in one direction or another. So it's just -- hey, I discovered this cool indy band and you are NOT cool enough to like them.

Inb4 larp, but I'm a lawyer who has been involved with startups for about 15 years and very focused on what I thought was going to be the next big thing that would transform the legal system. Who the fuck knows because I've been wrong before, but I really think -- as far as anybody can tell anything -- that smart contracts are it. Like they are really going to change everything. The way you donate to charity, the way you rent a house, the way people all over the world do business with each other. And I think link is going to be right at the center of it.

And the average person -- as far as I can tell -- comes to biz, well, fuck I don't know why. But I think a lot of them come because they feel fucked over by this world. And they feel like crypto is their shot, their way to finally get unfucked by a fucked up system.

So, yeah, why the fuck shouldn't we be trying to help each other. If you are shitting on another anon, and basically getting your jollies convincing him not to invest his 500 bucks -- that he worked his ass off at his shitty job that he hates -- in a great project that could really make a big difference in his life and his future, then.... Well, you are just the same as these fucking big banks and everybody else fucking him over.

I feel like chainlink, requires you to put a little faith and assumptions on how the world will develop. Most cryptos are attempts to “get rich quick schemes” and most people in crypto are here exactly for that. Why should I do readings , on companies / here should I help people who don’t help themselves. I will not FUD this coin because that’s literally retarded. But I won’t shill this coin to people who hold XRP , other a million scam coins and want to get rich. I’ve actively expressed the fundamentals of this project to people not even in crypto, and they could careless. Some people don’t want to be rich, and that’s fine. Other people want to be rich but put no effort in it. If Link fails, I might be a bit bummed, but at least we all tried. I think this is personally one of the best projects, aside from Ethereum.

TLDR: I only shill to people who deserve it.

It seems like your role is to help the universe maintain a balance between order and chaos. You show up in these link threads (maybe other threads I don't know), and one minute you are saying something sort of sensible, and the next you are sowing (remember how to spell that, right?) chaos.

So great has been the calamitousness of these times, and such the inveterate malice of the heretics, that there has been nothing ever so clear in our statement of faith, nothing so surely settled, which they, at the instigation of the enemy of the human race, have not defiled by some sort of error. I didn't say that smart contracts = contracts, I said that smart contracts were going to transform the legal system.

The value is NOT, imho, just in how information is exchanged. The value is in building arbitrarily complex business rules into an AUTONOMOUS agent that an execute on a contract. Because it is outside the control of either party, then, IF it is trustworthy, it solves a MAJOR problem that has been dogging contract law for thousands of years -- how can we, at low cost, enforce a contract.

This opens up extraordinary possibilities. The idea that this is going to ELIMINATE lawyers is stupid for at least two reasons
1) Lawyers are skilled at thinking through the potential downsides of a contract and planning for them AND, knowing when downside planning becomes overkill -- it's not worth it to try to anticipate EVERYTHING that can go wrong in a contract and its a judgment call to decide how much is too much planning
2) just as there are always going to be bugs in code, there are always going to be "bugs" in Smart Contracts, and lawyers will be important in sorting out the inevitable disputes that will still happen, e.g. the DAO hack and the arbitrary way that was handled, the more recent EOS issues with "lost" tokens.

Don't say I never spoon fed you either.

DYOR pipsqueek. I've spoon fed you enough and your arrogance is (a) tiresome and (b) getting in the way of a useful discussion.

Psh ex-dogecoiners will understand. If LINK delivers on 0.05% of what's promised, It will explode.
Dogecoin did this on memes alone...and LINK is the most meme'd crypto in existence. Understand?

kek. Some of it may be fud (rory part is just a rumor right now) rest is true to my knowledge. Dimitri has 6 public commits for june...he used to have 60. There is a lot and I mean a lot of work left. Those that think main net is coming in 2018 wish we can bet. If anyone knows of a way to wager I will put 10-100k link that main net comes after 1/1/19

Ironically (unironically?) the best way to implement this bet would be to set up a smart contract with -- you guessed it, an oracle.

It seems like chainlink will make lawyers and escrow type people unnecessary for financial contracts that 'would have settled with no hitches anyway.' The legal teams of the parties involved in a contract would be able to co author acceptable general SC's for the business relationship that their clients have, agree on arbitration terms in case of failed delivery, and then only need to intervene/bill to draft new contracts or argue over failed settlements. All the INSANE amounts of redundant paperwork and proofreading and printing and formalized procedure that happens every step of the way can hopefully just... Go away if the computers can be trusted to settlw things automatically. That's how I see CL adding value to the legal profession, but IANAL so I could be totally fucking wrong and deluded beyind belief. I'm willing to research more but don't know where to look, can ya throw me some thoughts lawyerman?

The fact is, the 15 year (lawyer) doesnt have an idea on the actual case use for cl. Boomer. He throws pasta and idiots fall for it. Yes standardize contracts, wills/trust will be the first to go. No shit. Send me this product, and i will pay you on certain day. Or the day that I die my issues receive this amount. Standard.

I would love to see real property laws such as deeds and records be replaced but this would require governments to implement these things. US will not be a leader here due to its beuracratic machine. Expect RU, Puerto Rico, or a third world country to be the first big adopters. Don’t expect for insurance blockchain companies on your house to happen anytime soon. Any real attorney would know this... how can machines distinguish between fraud and non fraud cases. They can’t (at the time of this writing)

“you’re too arrogant.”

You’re entire profession is based off judging people. Arrogance is what you represent. Boomer cuck has no idea of smart contracts. Contribute thoughtful information, troll or go back to plebit with your pasta, cuck.

How anybody is still in LINK at this point is beyond me.
By the way stinky linkies, better disable hyperthreading on your computer, because unpermissioned programs can now affect permissioned programs. Not that it matters, because your bags won't even be worth hacking once Chainlink goes down with the sinking ship of Intel.
