Need advice from whisky investment Connoisseurs. Was this a good start?

>> No.9964261

No. Should have went with some Popov Vodka. The market on Popov Vodka, in 1.5l plastic jugs, will be massive in 15-20 years.

Hey man I posted about this in a Linky thread the other night.

Firstly no that is not a good investment go for aged Scotch over 15 years. Secondly you need to get Single malt, this is a blend.

Pic related is my biggest gainer

This bottle now is worth £3000 after 2 years

The thinking behind a whisky investment should be the following.

>1.It needs to be Single Malt im Scottish)
>2.You should be going for a marketed brand, Macallan being the most well known worldwide. Look into Diageo and what distillery's it owns.
>3.Try and get a bottle with an age on it. Macallan have recently stopped putting the age on their whiskeys because the demand is so high for their products. The demand comes from Asia and France.

That will do just now, please feel free to ask any questions.

So I bought from Scotch Whisky Auctions but the percentage fees are fucking high. I'm not sure if I would use them when it is finally time to sell. I may just contact top tier hotels when it is time to sell and give them a good deal. It would still be better than the 20% auction fees.

Ebay has no alcohol sales where I'm from.

Can't say I'm an expert on anything other than Scotch but I do know from my younger years that Canadian Club has a lot of fans. The problem with this bottle is that it is aged for 6 years which isn't a great deal.

It does look pretty cool though so maybe you will get more for it.

In fact having looked your bottle up, it recently got auctioned for £20 so not worth much unfortunately.

Maybe I'll come visit you on 'holiday' when it is time to sell my whisky in the USA. It's not available to sell it on Ebay in Scotland.

lots of bullshit in this thread.

OP, if you want some whisky as an investment, I'd look into some of the Japanese whiskeys. Due to the enormous demand for it and the lack of available stock, a lot of the famous distillers there (Suntory, Nikka) have stopped producing age-statement whiskeys entirely in favor of no-age-statement products. As a result, a bottle of, say, Yamazaki 18 which retailed for ~$200 a few years ago is now worth almost $1k on the open market.
