It's held in escrow until both parties confirm. Pull it out of your paypal before releasing the terms
If something goes wrong, they have escrow node holders to put up collateral and resolve the issue via chat logs etc

It'll start a live chat with the seller, you exchange info
He sends you the payment and when everything checks out, you click 'release' and he'll get his ETH
If you fail to release the ETH, it'll be kicked to the escrow nodes to resolve the conflict

If he never sends you the payapal, you don't have to release the it from escrow
