It's over for the little guy. Institutional trading will destroy average Joes and the truly good ICOs will be gobbled up in private pre-sales to big clients. I am pretty pessimistic for the future for Joe Crypto

No. I dont have to explain myself to you poo eater.
stop shitting up this thread.

Are we going to see another coin that innovates at Eth levels. everything holding a bag thinks it's their own coin. no shilling. they are deluded and misunderstand ETH.

Eth gained steam because it had good TPS when it was being debated, and then it made ICO boom. it gained immediate mass adoption within crypto sphere allowing it to soar in value.

most these shitty shills are waiting for mass adoption even on the good ones, which likely will never come. gaining mass adoption within the crypto sphere is much easier than in the world at large for many reasons.

Is there room for it to happen again? the goal of this thread is to identify a usecase within the blockchain community ready to take off, maybe it's atomic swaps? maybe its something else that allows people to MAKE money (like Eth ICOS did, hence eth soaring).

This is my conclusion before starting this thread. GOOD ICOs are eaten by the institutional investors i private sales now. and they probably wont even see more than 5-10X on these. for institutional that is tipple A level returns. they make billions form that.

Idon't see how its possible for the retail investor to pick something and then see it go from 30cents to 500 bucks like with Eth anymore. why? for many reasons. one being ETH was here when BTC was low. its sats rised with BTCs price rising too. It went from 500 dollar BTC to 20,000 and increased in sats along that time frame.

we can't deny the game has changed. I was here in 2016, and i wont lie. some people already thought that BTC reaching 1k a few years before was the height of the experiment, but institutional were not among us in the same way. we never had an ICO bubble.

I missed out on ETH because I only purchased a few thousand worth of BTC then basically shunned all alts thinking they were shitcoins.

>> No.9950121

Believe, there is still tons of money to be made in 2018.
Like youtube is fucking its publishers, new competitors arrive from the crypto scene -> https://coin.bit.tube/

>> No.9950141

>>9949898
Yes, but you have to go after investments that institutions don't have the resources to go after.

For example, you can do a leveraged buyout of
local businesses/property/assets, then reorganize, rebuild, liquidate, etc..

The problem for small investors though it that nobody trusts them so, it might be hard to pull together enough funds.

And you'll miss out on the next 1000x because you'll be thinking the exact same thing. There's always opportunities to make money but you're a loser and a loser is a loser.

arguably. if you think "making it" is 1M USD.

Pic related did happen though. Nobody saw that coming in January-February.

Why did pic related even moon? It still perplexes me and almost feels like ti did so because of market conditions more so than anything else. China was surrounded in mystery, the coin rebranded and spend ass loads of money on "tech" with is still not doing anything. at least ETH had ICOs and made people rich, hence its soaring value. I still consider ANTS a random lucky thing.

there have only been three *useful* innovations since bitcoin
1) decentralised consensus of accounting. (bitcoin itself)
2) turing complete decentralised consensus (eth)
3) cryptonote and the use of key images (bytecoin)

dont misunderstand my thread faggot. its to talk about what usecase is immediately needed and useful for quick adoption in crypto community, thats why eth mooned.

I buy alts since Q3 2017. I did extremely well from Vechain last year but i no longer hold it. i don't feel it will do an ETH and the bet gains are behind it if you purchased last yea like i did.

Thats more like it, we need shit that can gain traction from the get go. not "decentrilized file sharing to eventually replace the entire webspace" the fuck nigga. pace yourself.

if it has the potential to make people money even better, like eth did.
I think we really need atomic swaps atm, but im not sure how that really generates cash for people.

> muh we need a coin for an uncensored verion of youtube.

its fucking retarded. Do you know what an uncensored youtube would look like? sn*ff films, ch*ld po*n, murd*r videos, t*rture videos and all of that shit. Whats even more retarded is the fact that you dont even need a coin for this. BitTorrent worked fine without a coin.

there are still a couple more innovations left anon. though they may never be realised. the one i am most excited about is full decentralisation (or rather distributed consensus) while still giving each user pseudonymity. i.e. 1 person = 1 vote on the network. though i have no idea how it is possible. i have been thinking about this for a few months now... the only thing that may make it work is the usage of NP-hard problems.

the thing about high cap shit like EOS or even Stellar to degree (stellar was about in 2015 and mooned already imo) is that you have to factor in BTC.

Eth and xrp mooned with BTC. their sats skyrocketed, and BTCS USD value skyrocketed.

If we want that again from top 5 coins, you have to expect BTC to do another 35x (600 bucks - 20,000) along side.

Pandacoin was my favorite laughing stock.
Peercoin actually was the first POS coin, funny how shit goes. thats what happens when its just POS for the sake of it. ETH tried to be so much more. it worked for people. (ICOs. and eventually DAPPs one day).

we can't forget that ETH always marketed it self alot. that makes a massive difference.

>> No.9950305

why? it adds nothing of value other than smaller transaction times and higher scalability at the cost of a higher degree of centralisation. *scalability* is a meme. untill we can get 0.1 second or faster confirmations and 1 trillion+ transactions per second, whatever your betting on for scalability, is going to be crushed in the future.

it seems interesting but i dont see how atomic swaps generate income for people like ICOS hence eths moon. even though we need them a lot.

Eth still seems like the Quintessinal Altcoin. If i had 1m USD to invest i would comfy all in ETH and expect a 10x still.

Wouldn't be surprised if that autist manages to solve atomic swaps once his mind moves away from POS.

ETH is one of the best bets imo. You're obviously not going to get a 100x from here, but there's also A LOT less downside than most/all other altcoins. There are plenty of altcoins that are down 90%+ from ath. That's very unlikely to happen to ETH unless the entire market loses 50%+ from here.

Just don't put your entire net worth in crypto.
