You will never be happy, atleast not like you imagine/daydream about it . The happiness as a kid for example comes near to it what you hope you get someday.
Everything is relatively tough, when you start today (I know this sounds egdy) but its the hard truth you could achieve something that relatively comes near that what you imagined. And also then you will realise its more about beeing fullfilled than happy. But waiting till the day everything gets good like somebody turned a light switch wont happen and could end pretty ugly for you.....
