I feel the same, not sure which is about to make a move first, but then I started evaluating worst case scenarios.

If ETH takes off first, LINK will drop in Vitaliks (possibly) and when LINK takes it's turn it'll be similar to ETHs Mar 2017 takeoff. I'm confident LINK will still give be great returns.

If LINK takes off and I'm not in as much as I'd like, FOMO will get the better of me and I'll be trading in emotion.

So I concluded that I'd rather be in from the beginning of the LINK run and make great returns, than try to time the market for great returns/loss with increased risk (I suck at timing the market, it's completely irrational)

Obviously this is just my strategy, whatever you do good luck anon.

5% ETH is actually a very high number considering everything else, the best ROI staking coin atm is like 8% tops

so you'll make 1.6 eth a year

depending on what the eth price is when its implemented, it could be fucking nothing or pretty good

That's also just considering 32, I'm aware that 100 or 200 is out of reach for most at this point, but those numbers have great ROI while the asset is appreciating.

5% in Vitaliks today could be (likely) substantial in 5 years time.

I've had a direct debit set up with coinbase the minute they made the feature available to buy ETH once a month at market price as a savings account. It takes the guess work out of trading and it's also working really well for me at the moment to accumulate a decent amount at a good price (what I consider)

so how much does this delay full proof of stake? the process should be iterative not all at once. the most important thing is to reduce issuance and reliance on proof of work, not bundle two huge updates together if it means you're delaying them both
