It simply does not work as people think it does. Not as easy. So you have info a company will have a fusion/ What you gonna do ? Huge leverage short all-in? Just by that info? What if the market reacts the opposite way? We have multiple examples of the scenes, it's still like 40-60 how it will play out.

Secondly, if there is large enough bunch of people knowing something with enough capital the public does not now, that it can affect the price trendemously, the info will leak quicker than fuck. People talk like birds in these cases, EVERY FUCKIN time. It's human nature they cant keep their mouths shut.

The biggest joke is that "insider trading" is investigated only considering the equites, not for currencies for example, never.

Bought $500 of GBSN at 0.07 per share, up nearly 300% in just two trading days (Friday and today).

The stock could drop a little since today it peaked 100% which started a selloff from day traders, but maintained a +80% hold end of day. My prediction was 0.25 by end of week but it actually hit that today.

If it continues with buying pressure, 0.50 or even $1.00 is not out of the question before Christmas.

If FDA news breaks with approvals of testing or whatever the fuck it is, it will be the next KBIO. If not, company will either R/S or issue nearly a billion shares and it tanks hard. It's a gamble.

Damn, that's pretty fucking nice congrats.

I'd watch GBSN very carefully as soon as the market opens and keep a finger on the sell button. It looks like at least two Jewish law firms are trying to get a class action lawsuit going against GBSN for massively diluting shares.

Hey everyone. Time for an update from me. So as I've stated before every Friday I initiate a $10 transfer from my bank account to Robinhood. Currently I will be receiving my 4th installment tomorrow. Currently I'm +$1.57 since I've started less than a month ago.

The table on the right shows my trade history. I'm assuming I'm going to get my 50 shares of $AEZS back at the $.0408 I bought them? I'm not sure, I know I'll get the money back. Robinhood already told me that. I just don't know what price I'll be receiving on it.

My daily strategy is to look for tumbling stocks that are close to their 52 week low. Once there I buy what I can. I wait for a rise of $.06 and set a stop loss at +$.05 of my purchase price. So far all but one of them have immediately hit it and sold. I'm fine with that.

One, $TCPI, actually went off. I go to the point where my stop loss was being set $.05 below the current price and I would just move it up as the stock went up.

I'm simply of the mindset that I don't care how much money I make as long as I make money. Be it $.06 or $.60. At this point in my trading life I'm just trying to accumulate funds with little or no effort. Now I don't mean I don't research anything. I do look up articles on stocks I'm checking out and make sure there is at least a little positive news floating around them. I also enjoy using StockTwits. You should too if you're reading this and you're not an insider.

Now, I'm currently mad at myself for my most current trade.

$NETE was bought the other day at a meager $.18 and hit my mark. I was able to place a stop loss and grabbed +$.05 return on each share. I noticed it dipped at the end of the day and wanted to grab some more. It closed at $.20 and when it opened today it was at $.35.. I was hoping for it to go down but it just kept going up so I went ahead and bought it assuming I would at least hit my stop loss...

11 shares at $.3691 later... It's now at $.3092... I'm not going to panic sell.

The concept is to find a developing company with solid promise, or an undervalued company who lost value due to a fixable problem. VW is undervalued because the Germans work hard and their cars will be desired well into the future, especially because Germans look into new energy tech all the time. Macy's is undervalued because it's worth more than its current listing on real estate alone, but its product quality has also shot down to near Target levels and it only sells clothing rather than a wide array of products. It may double in the next two years or it may crash and burn; buying low is always a gamble but you need all the facts to hedge your bets.

I wouldn't. Most stocks rise/fall based on profits/losses/quarterly reports, etc. Pharmaceutical stock prices change based on two things - POTENTIAL profits and, drum roll please... Emotion. People get excited, buy it up, freak out, sell it. Hell this morning I got emotional when I saw it at $1.55 so I sold immediately. Didn't consider current profits or potential future profits, just an in the moment thing. After today XOMA will drop as people don't have much to look forward to until stage 2 results are posted. Price will drop, people will see it drop and get emotional and start to sell thus lowering the price more. Just how these stocks work.

Week one: All in on hear HEAR. I made $30 and wasnt impressed because it stayed the same for the whole day.

Week 2: I went all in on NETE knowing the risk. It rose 75% and i sold directly in the morning. I figured out the pattern that worked for me. Buy in the night. Sell in the morning.

Week 3: just started. I split my money into thirds. ($333 for me). Im buying thre days in a row and selling three days in a row. This way i have money always at hand and working in stocks due to the time it takes funds to settle. Feels good

Look at 52 wk highs/lows. You want to buy low sell high. So if a stock is doing good there is a chance it'll go up some more, but a better chance it'll fall, unless:
A. It's undervalued and people know it.
B. Some crazy shit happens. Like shkrelie buying out KBIO.
Any positive news could affect the stock as well so it's a good idea to be informed.

The difference between memestocks and Tesla is that memestocks used to be worth something, FREE used to be over 1000 per share. Their days are over.

We mess around with penny stocks because their low price makes them so volatile that a ONE CENT increase is enough to cause people to sell. with penny stocks, you are GUARANTEED daily highs and lows. The stocks days of relevancy are over, their price is controlled by everyone trying to jew each other. No hedge funds, mutual funds, or endowment funds are holding them. Its simply a game of charts with these stocks. You're better off using your money to play the game then bank of them coming back, even if it is only a couple bucks each.

I started off making several major mistakes but finally made all of my money back today by investing in ASTI at 11 a share and holding off until it became 17 a share.

Here are some newb mistakes ive made.

>had gbsn at roughly 5 cent a share, 30 bucks worth, sold at 7 cent.
>bought in to HEAR at 2.54.
>sold asti stocks at 14 cent after buying in at 18 cent. Lost all my money when it went up to 19 cent the next day.

Anyways, I have planned to ride ASTI stock until the end. I'm going to buy in when it crashes and sell when it sky rockets (it always does eventually). Whether this makes me money quickly or not is irrelevant. I'll take any "free" money that isn't from wage slaving.

I want to do this with $10,000 so that I can stop working and start making $2,000-5,000 every few weeks.

ASTI Update...

1. AH trading high at .184 a share with 380k volume...

2. ASTI nabbed a gov contract for 500k on first day of Defense summit, only more to come.

3. COO had one-on-one talks with SNNLive to discuss current plans for company and proprietary technology.

4. ASTI also awarded multiple GSA schedules which start selling on 12/15/15.
"The GSA Schedule is one of the most widely used methods by which federal agencies buy goods and/or services. Award of a GS"

Most of this news has not hit major stock news sites which then get fed to the likes of Yahoo and Google. I'm not saying tomorrow will be crazy or shoot to the moon (Mars), however this can all make the price jump rapidly. Get on while you can, the future is bright. Anything under $1.00 is worth the investment. This is a long hold.

If you don't put tons of money you aren't getting tons of money.

I started like a week ago with 250 bucks and I've made probably 10 dollars a day or so. And I've been green at the end of every day. You just have to watch it and put the minimum amount of effort making sure you're not investing in some mining company with 4m in debt or "proof of concept" companies that are fundraising and don't even have an office

Save up $3,000 and buy into one of the vanguard index mutual funds. I suggest the s&p 500 or total stock market for that small-cap exposure. If you can't save up that much, you have way bigger worries than where to start investing. Or fuck it, just buy 1 share of the equivalent ETF.

I swear to god if someone says index fund again. Enough with this profit diluting bullshit.

Buying the market will not get us there. We need some high beta stocks to place bets on.

Post up your holdings and show me your "15% gainz" or you're just another bullshit spewing trader who is likely barely breaking even after all is said and done.

This just sounds depressing. At best, if your investment gets 100% returns (fucking top kek) you'll earn $3,000 in the year, less tax. Why fucking bother. In reality you'll get about $180, less tax. Just so you can post on /biz/ and try to bring up the fact that you're an 'investor' with friends and colleagues? C'mon, if you only have $3,000 just fucking pay off bills, keep a rainy day fund and be gone

Try decades. You gotta start somewhere and the earlier, the better. Put that three grand in, automatically reinvest dividends, make regular contributions, and don't even look at financial news for the next 15 years. Accept the fact that you're not fucking warren buffet and suddenly the realization that effortless compounding returns year after year is actually a pretty sweet deal considering the other options out there.

You're not going to get rich quick in one year. This is not the fucking lottery.

I wholeheartedly disagree. If you're in a financial position where $3,000 is all you can spare in a year, keeping that money will improve your standard of living to a greater degree than putting it aside for investments 'long-term'. Like I said, you're going to get about $200 less tax per year as the cost of forgoing dining out, buying new shoes etc. $400 in year 2? Big fucking deal. Opportunity cost forgone because you're poor and stashing away $6,000 in 2 years is huge.
I understand compound interest, Buffet etc. but I also know that money buys happiness up to a certain amount and they haven't hit that limit yet. I've been putting away about $4,000 every 2 weeks for 5 years with very little sacrificed in terms of my standard of living... when he reaches that level, he can think about compound interest

ASTI Market News:

THORNTON, CO and WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwired) -- 12/02/15

> Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTI)
> announced today the Company was awarded a Schedule 56 contract, beginning December 15th, 2015
> contract is from the General Services Administration (GSA), the procurement division of the United States Federal Government.
> contract enables Federal customers, including all four branches of the U.S. Military, Federal Agencies and others, to easily purchase a range of Ascent Solar products including: the MilPak E and EnerPlex products such as the Kickr IV and Kickr II.
> GSA Schedule 56 contract unlocks a large and previously untapped potential revenue opportunity.
> The military applications for Ascent's lightweight and durable solar products are numerous
> multitude of other applications for Ascent's products ranging from disaster relief to use by the U.S. Forest Service
> The granting of the GSA Schedule 56 contract is the result of a rigorous process.
> The GSA carefully assesses companies to determine their ability to deliver products and/or services to the Federal Government on a sustained basis
> The completion of this process identifies the recipient as a preferred vendor for the Federal Government

Stocks will rise sharply again closer to December 15th. Do not feel like it is too late to jump on this dank meme. This stock is severely undervalued.

With all the volume and the futures the most I might see this dip too is .19 to .20

If anything this stock will be a pendulum between .20 and .35 until the 15th.Once that date hits it is possible to shoot up to .50 on the hype, and any follow up PRs will sustain the flow.

Even if you buy in now and set a stop loss sell at .30 you'll make a profit, and can easily set a stop loss buy at .22 again and repeat the process.

I agree (and already said) that if you're sweating the fuck out of $3,000 that investing isn't currently for you. Which is just another reason these threads are stupid.

Whether it's better to live frugally to start your investment small or to live it up while you're young and sociable at the expense of saving is subjective and varies from case to case. I'm in your camp though.

I only own 3 shares. A restuarant franchise, a Private education company and a fruit & canned foods business, sold a mutual bank for a small profit, sold a platinum stock.

3 shares: 12 to 26%, for the year so far the total market in my country has done about 7%

Most people here will use TurboTax to do their taxes and their $79.99 level will allow you to import all statements easily. So you need to at least make $80 off the bat. Plus most people here are buying/selling every few weeks or so. Any stocks bought/sold in less than a year will have their gains/losses taxed as ordinary income. So whatever bracket your at based on your income (10%, 15%, 25%, 28%, 33%, or 38%) is what you'll pay. If you make over $1,000 a year trading you need to make estimated quarterly tax payments.
