I still think that it's probable we see mainnet being released during Q3 this year. (This is a pure speculative post, so take my word with a grain of salt).
-Hint 1: Linkpool's timeline. Mat said: "our release will more or less coincide with the release of CL itself so we can't say when exactly unfortunately. We have no reason to close the crowdsale anytime soon (...)". Recently, in a medium's article they said their crowdsale will be closed on 31 July 2018, even if they don't reach the hardcap. Why would they close the crowdsale on such date if there is no incentives behind? That's because CL mainnet is being released before or during September.
Hint 2: Dimitri Roche being on vacation and sudden slow down of activity on PivotalTracker. During last week, the main focus seemed to be UserInterface tasks and CodeShip tests. In a time in which there are many other projects related to oracles coming up. Anyone would say this is a race for the first mover advantage. The only reason I find to justify this slow down is that Dimitri is mainly a backend developer and his job is done.
-Hint 3: Many companies related to IC3 are going to release their blockchain products during September. IC3 are a group of companies interested in the blooming of SmartContracts.
-Hint 4: ETHorse hopes to have an oracle solution during Q3. Well, in our favor we have the fact that the Chainlink team has been working on the code since 2014. A bunch of other new projects are recently coming up using the oracle & smartcontract buzzwords (e.g: Iota and project Qubit).
They use nice videos with 3D animation, but reality is, they just started to figure out the actual importance of the oracle problem to make blockchain technology mainstream. This. I hav some link but this group on biz has been shit right from oct 17. They even post fud an shill topic lists to work off. They do it to PnD and swing trade but by their existence put me off investing or setting up nodes, I was mainly interested in russing nodes as I own two datacentres and had unleased cage space . Now let me explain why I know main net is in 2019..if sergey doesn't abandon the project like he's done before. 1. Audits - the code and all contracts have to be audited and audited again before main net. This will take at least a month and will be easy to spot once it happens. 2. People think the 2 man team is a meme but not for the coding side. There are really only 2 coders for the back end I think there one for the front end but most the heavy lifting is needed on the backend and they don't have help. 3. Cryptlets (developed by smartcontract) is actually a better version of chainlink. Basically participants in any network can run nodes that will provide distribution and decentralization for oracles. So chainlink without paying neets gas and fees. 4. Ropsten is for testing and no one is testing. This means one of two things...one we are very far from main net and it is going to be a long process to get "customers" up and testing (heck its free chainlink right now) or two...the more likely truth is there is no demand. 5. Decentralization is a meme when it comes to apis from centralized sources. Heck you can say I want a interest rate from 2 sources with 4 nodes but its overkill and everyone knows it. Thomason Rueters blockone is a trusted oracle from a trusted brand that will implement into any blockchain. 6. Sergey doesn't like link holders and has no interest in "raising" link's price. He may end up making the best solution but not want to get out in front of the public because of his fear of the public. right now they have a node on ropsten with no testing. For main net a user would need to be able to set up an SLA and pay however many nodes in link. Then the nodes will have to approve or decline the job. Then the nodes have to all grab data for the agreement and sent back for consensus to be published. Then link payments are finalized. Everything I just said is not in the code and not even started from what I have seen. There are so many nuances to the above that I have 0% faith main net will happen in 2018 and only hopeful for first half of 2019.

You realize they will want to have everything that I mentioned on ropsten for at least a month or two to make sure everything is running smooth as well.

Lets play a game - code completion - ok i'll play along with you dreamers lets say 3 months. (never fucking going to happen) that puts us end of September.

Then you have audits - 1-2 months this puts at November. Now you realize everytime they add something to the code it will have to get audited.
