Any technically literate people here know if the code is actually legit or not? I want to buy DERO before mainnet but i'm not sure if it's legit or not, I did my own research but there isn't much to research...github is private and team is anon, what else is there to research

Been in DERO since the start. Rewrote CN protocol in golang. Their own privacy-focused platform could be used to launch dapps. They have their 2m premine available to view at all times. People gotta get paid, man. You know what's shady? Endor retaining 85% of tokens. That shit is shady, especially when they already have big clients, money, and big names attached. Dero is a project of love and there was no ICO. People gotta chill about that. CaptDero, Serena, the entire team has been chill and informative af.

OP I am pretty tech literate (I am lead dev for an android wallet app for bitcoin). While admittedly, I don't know golang, so therefore I cant vet for the code, I can say that I did some pretty deep research.

The first place dero was announced, was on a golang forum - if the devs werent legit I am pretty sure they wouldnt do this. They also compiled the binaries down for almost every operating system including rasberry pi's. Fucking rasberry pi's. if you follow in the slack, the lead dev sometimes comes in once every couple of days to anser some q's. He knows his shit - I have talked to him about several attacks and he is pretty capable of going deep down into detail.

Though I still don't know if it's legit. If you want to be 100% sure I would wait for the source code to be released. Though the testnet seems fine so far. On the offchance that this is 100% legit and they deliver 500 tps, 3 sec block times and a golang VM plus ringCT, then this should be in the top 20 at least. But they are making a LOT of promises. so far the only thing they have missed a deadline on is making GUI wallets.

They got an old GUI for the C++ deamon (when it was a fork of Monero in feb) but it's wasn't compatible anymore with golang deamon since march, so they delayed for the Q2 end.
