My best friend and I have been childhood friends since we were in our mid-teens. We have a lot of the same interests and can talk whenever about whatever. We write music together, express philosophy, art, and other forms of expressionism with each other.

Now i'm not gay and neither is he. He has a long term GF and i've been in and out of relationships.

I'm currently single, and in the heat of the moment while him and I was recollecting and reminiscing on nostalgic childhood memories. I thought about telling him how I wish I knew a girl version of you.

What happened there? Is that a gay thought? Or is this me being genuine and wanting to settle with a loving woman who would understand me the same as my best friend...

Just keep your friend as th, a friend, and keep looking for a worthy girl if its that what you want in your deeps, maybe the best women you can find wont be great such as the friend you described but they could be at least enough for fulfilling your need, also consider that everyone is different and that is what make us special in some way so you are pretty much asking for something irreal at the feminine version of your friend.
Also this is business and finance board, don't forget that m8.

Only you know if it was a sexual thought or not. It sounds like it may of been if you are questioning it and looking for reassurance that it was not.

It's normal to have brotherly love for a friend. If you want to shank him up the ass, then you're gay.

Not you're not gay until you get an erection thinking about your friend.
