I got into crypto last year, hodling mostly.

15k-->254k-->75k today

I'm sitting here in awe of the amazing volatility of the crypto markets. I have been a strong believer in hodling, but I'd like to start trading with about $2,000 worth of my portfolio.

I was wondering if anyone is willing to share their crypto trading tips.

My goal would be to buy alts on down days (since they drop more than btc) and then trade for BTC on up days (since they rise more than BTC).

I'd throw $500 into about 4 alts and just do this back and forth until I make some sort of profit. I've legit never traded before, but I'd like to start.

What do you think, biz?

Thanks in advance.

What's the issue? Right now I'm hodling more btc than alts... and if I'd like to accumulate BTC this sounds like a solid plan.

Doesn’t really work in bear market:
>alt is at 1000 sats
>btc dips, alt dips to 900, you buy it
>btc dips more, alt dumps to 700
>hello bagholding
Stop losses are shit in crypto, algo bots hunt for them all the time.
Trading in crypto is based on insider information or market manipulation, so you need connections and/or fat stack.

My biggest issue is that I have a friend that trades and he has turned 2k into 200k.... believe it or not I had about double him at peak and now he has 200k and me 75k making money off of retard pumps like kin, ocn, dentacoin, bezop, etc.

Just go for the popular "buy high, sell low".

There's this youtube channel
Krown's Crypto Cave
I think it can be helpful on some level to learn the ropes if you've never done this. I don't like the idea of depending on him because he may give you bad habits or biases and maybe he acts in ways that don't personally suit you. But what he does is very consistent. There are a lot of possible approaches, and there's nothing you need to discard. You don't need to spend a lot of time tracking a lot of shit, you can set up some alarms and a system (those who are trying to build things or keep them moving do have to spend more time). You don't need to make a living from this. Take care of your own personal needs. If you want to trade with leverage, on bitmex there is a testnet. Stay there for a while until you believe you've got the hang of things, then send very little, maybe like 10 bucks, lose all of it and then you can send more if you still want to. I found helpful "The art of execution" (not exactly about trading) and "Trading in the zone" but don't live on books.
