Let's say somebody has 50k in cash but no income or saved wealth on paper. They want to stay off the radar. They have already spent 10k on precious metals since the market has been good. The logic being that "mattress" cash depreciates over time but precious metal tends to hold it's value.
What are some ideas to invest the rest? Is putting more money into precious metals a good or bad idea? if so, what % of the 50k?
Diversifying your portfolio is usually the way to go, you really don't want 20% of your worth in any one thing I've heard. But maybe this situation is different since it's dirty money + no declared savings.
The problem to be solved here is investing the money instead of just washing it, and staying as anonymous as you reasonably can. What other investments are options other than metal? Any other thoughts or ideas?

You realize you don't have to "declare savings" right? Not sure what you're trying to achieve as when you actually go to sell your gold you'll either have to sell it anonymously on a black market for a loss or get flagged by the w/e tax goons in your country anyway.

The metal can be sold anonymously.
Some coins can be sold without taxes up to any amount, as they are not considered bullion, but the currency of that country, for example.

See if you can't OTC buy some Monero
That could help with hiding online purchases

You really don't want to invest dirty money, though. Because then if the investments work out all you have is a lot of dirty money.

Best option is to wash it, and that's a lot easier than you think. you'll lose a bit in the process, but now you can do whatever with it.

Washing it isn't an option, can't public for for reasons other than just not wanting to pay taxes. Foreign banks and btc is an interesting idea but seems above my pay grade

You DO realize that if you wash the money, you can then turn around and invest it through legitimate means right?

Of course. It's not an option.

Is this drug money or something?? Id invest as much as you feel comfortable with in crypto and more metals. Guns as listed already is a good option too. Those hold value pretty well and useful if SHTF
