Greetings /biz/. I'm an ambitious young man looking for a sense of direction. Not sure how common threads like this are, but just hear me out.

I've been slugging my way through life being a wageslave for Warren Buffett, making just enough to keep afloat in my shitty apartment while taking classes on the side in hopes that one day a BA will help me in some way. I know the USA is full to the brim with overworked millenials with a degree, but it's better than being a millenial with no degree (I think).

My job pays little and physically exhausts me every day. I work a warehouse job and mostly deal with heavy lifting. There are no real local alternatives, so I'm at the mercy of the localized wages.

I'm smart, patient, and ambitious. My potential is wasted. I have no dreams of being a financial king. I just want to make enough to support a family and give them a promising road. Currently that seems like a pipedream.

I need a sense of direction. I have never invested in stocks. I know very little in the way of making money outside of physical labor. I just need some solid advice, or a finger pointing me down a good path. I have money I've saved up over the years but it isn't much (couple thousand) that I could use toward some kind of venture.

Anyone care to give a lowly wagecuck some wisdom?

You cant make money, real money, with your labor in our capitalist society. If you want to make money, you have to use your money to do so. Use your money to make more of it through trading things or investing in things. Buy something for $20 that you can sell for $60 and rinse and repeat and build a business around it. Even doctors and nfl players are just highly paid laborers. The real money is made from paying a player $10m/yr knowing that theyll bring you in $13m that year, paying a doctor 400k/yr but making 1m/yr off of them. Buying widgets from a manufacturer for $5 and selling them to people who need widgets for $20.

Keep saving and looking for opportunities for your money to make you more of it. Youre gunna have to hustle though.

Sounds like the past 2 years for me. I decided to go self employment. End of the day, you gotta be doing something you like. Yeah you'll like anything if it makes you a millionaire, but I learned that you need to enjoy the journey to that point or it will not happen.

If you honestly don't like anything, you'll need to decide if youre depressed, too picky, or (in the best case) destined for something.
