Up until we flooded the market, kneepads were the ticket. We've switched to tactical fanny packs, huge everywhere people have to much to carry in their pockets, but not enough for a bag. Dumpster diving is a real thing and surprisingly bountiful. I've done it before but not for food, and I found a $650 nice mahogany coffee table that they spray painted on to deter people from taking it. I took it and cleaned that paint off and used it for myself, but if I wanted to I could've sold that for $40-$50 pretty easily and had food money for a day. Also supermarkets throw out shitloads of food and if it's sealed up airtight what the problem is.

There are literally dozens of food shelters to get free food and some hygiene products from. You might have to actually pay your rent though. I live in Northeast Ohio and can think of 3 places within 10 miles I could go for food to take home, some times they had vegetables too. Also SNAP is a thing depending on your earnings.
