I made an honest effort to take this to /n/ but it was a dead end. If you had 1 million to spend on a sailing boat to take around the world what would it be? How big? What style hull?...We can spin this in a /biz/ way with the caveat that "it will be used to charter and generate income"

To add a little more substance. Let us say you buy a 600k used sailboat. Then you need 30k worth of sails and some spares, 5k worth of motor work. Shit adds up quick. If you have an extra million for a boat then you may be able to buy a 500k boat assuming you have money for hotels.
