>look down upon them as pitiful wagecucks spending their time off and weekends slaving away for more $$$
>talk to some of them, realize they're making $20-$40k extra per year

How do I convince myself to let go of my perfect easy 40 hour work week and be a good wagecuck slaving away from 80 hours every week /biz/

one of the nicer resume's I've seen on /biz/. you'll go far anon. here are my notes

remove "class of Summer." make your major more prominent than your school unless you're from the ivy league
I dont know what your certifications mean, if you're applying for a job that needs strictly them leave it but consider moving the section down or removing it
move your 2nd place award to the top of the award section. remove "ahead of other teams from schools like Cornell and Yale," quite pretentious
explain what you did at the pipeline workshop 2017 better ...
several things wrong with how you presented you GOA. why are your results on github and not published in an academic paper? why are you calling O(n^3) algorithms state of the art if yours is faster? Since your result is not published, I'm skeptical that you've actually done what you claimed. being wrong (even on a technicality) is worse than being right
"design and build" competition is not a sentence. you've now listed the same award twice
how did you collaborate with boeing? if you remove the above duplication, you'll have room to elaborate
remove "wrote scripts," "was able to," elaborate how this helped the city
technical skills section is a mess. random groupings. why is pandas on the same line as redis? why is matlab and oct why is SSH a """skill?""" how are you an expert in four languages? have you actually developed the linux os as your resume claimed, or does "unix development" just mean you've written a program in linux?
im slightly triggered by the spaces after, but not before your slashes

Lets start from the basics.

How many jobs have you applied to.

Do you know something called empirical statistics?

The more you shoot, the higher chances of hitting a target (spraying like a noob).

I applied to 20 jobs, got invited to 6 interviews and eventually chose 1 out of 3 where i was semi-accepted.

Stop being a fucking pussy and apply to jobs.

>remove "class of Summer."...
Noted.
>I dont know what your certifications mean...
EIT is the licensure exam that engineers have to take. The others are certs in CAD software.
>move your 2nd place award...
Noted. Also how to convey that level of accomplishment without sounding pretentious about it?
>explain what you did at the pipeline workshop 2017 better ...
Noted.
>several things wrong with how you presented you GOA...
It's a carry-over from my undergrad research and I made some improvements. I started working on it again recently since I have no job and I want to avoid big gaps in my resume. It has 350 stars on github, but how do I make this look more credible?
>"design and build" competition is not a sentence...
I was trying to list the specific skills and experiences I gained from working on the mars rover. Any suggestions for how to make that more clear?
>how did you collaborate with boeing?...
They made us sign an NDA, so I'm sort of stuck with that one.
>remove "wrote scripts,"...
Noted.
>technical skills section is a mess...
I definitely need to rework this section. It's a hodgepodge because some of the software stuff was originally "tacked on" as a bonus from my ME resume, and I try to tailor it to the specific job requirements.
>how are you an expert in four languages? have you actually developed the linux os as your resume claimed, or does "unix development" just mean you've written a program in linux?
I've written in programs in all of them, but what's the usual criteria for listing languages on your resume? I wouldn't say I have the entire standard library memorized for all of them if that's what people usually go by. Also the linux/SSH thing was there because those were specific bullet points on the job description for one of the positions I was applying to. I've been using Mint as my primary OS for the last 5 years though.

Will do. Should the references be on the resume or in a separate document? Also should I describe who they are at all, or only give their contact info? I've listed two former professors and also the person I did research under.

The reference should be at the most bottom. You should format the projects and experience since it is a wall of text and i doubt a HR guy will read that text.

The format is :
Name
Profession and company
Contact Number

And wear pic related to interviews.
