I fucking hate this “nobody needs a watch meme”, I check the time maybe 15-16 times a day, I often check the time whilst my hands are physically busy. Do you know how much more convenient it is to tip your wrist to check the time instead of reaching into your pocket every time? Saying a wrist watch is pointless because smart phones exist is like saying a wrist watch should never have been invented because we already had pocket watches. That’s not to mention scenarios where: my phone is dead or left at home (very often because I dont need to charge it because I’m not some instagram obsessed whore who can’t disconnect), checking the time whilst driving, when I step away from my desk for a quick break and leave my phone there, when I’m exercising and want to keep track of the time without a gay “phone armband”, and of course finally you have aesthetic reasons like the same reason some people wear ties, it can complement your appearance and can also be passed on as a family heirloom that often retains value if you buy your watches intelligently.

Not everyone is tethered to their phone anon.

im a neet living at home, mooching off my parent's social security benefits. basically they pay the rent and food. i don't ask them for money, i earn some shekels here and there doing freelance work. i don't feel a need to check the time that often throughout the day. you wanna know why? because i'm not a wagecuck.

own your own business or do freelance and you won't need to obsess over what time it is. if you're doing client work on the computer the time is conveniently right there in the corner of the screen.
