"For real" is relative. It is my prediction, that's it.
So far, the requirement for airdrops is to have a min of EOS, but that's because the sender needs to pay for gas; for sure there won't be min after main net.
Anybody with a registered EOS wallet have right for airdrops, just don't keep your token in a exchange and use your right to vote for BPs too.
