started building my first miner with my mad gains, got a few rx580s now(first shipment) and im waiting for my 1080TIs
Im just making 1.6$/day per card on the rx580s right now and im getting around 29mh/s
are you guys making more mining anything else?

btw, im mining using awesome miner claymore dual miner

>have to optimize the cards with special firmware to get good hash rates
>to mine new coins you have to run shady software that might contain trojans
>even pool mining you have to run shady software to get a legit address

I never run mine, I would if I had a real garage and not just keep it in my bedroom. Might just sell 2 cards (of 4), upgrade the cpu and use it as a desktop

I'm running 2 1080s and 1 1070 in my bedroom and damn I feel like im in a sauna even with ac on. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't bother. The heat alone just from those 3 cards is ridiculous.

>making $1.60 a day

OP if you spent more than 8 hours ordering and installing this piece of garbage then you're out the cost of the machine and a day's wages. It'll take 6 months to pay itself off with no maintenance.

1.6$per day per card and these are the cheapest ones i have.
ROI in less than a year, passively.
It's still ez money dude

I get 1$ daily per 1000$ investment into steem, no elecricity costs or anything physical in my house. Don't even need to log in at all.

Why the fuck would I do mining instead.

im operating the rig remotely from another location (i own a lot of real estate so i can put it almost anywhere) and i dont have to pay almost anything for electricity. Keeping shit cold is ez up north where i live so the profit margin is still good. Im still making mad gains with my trading strat but passive income is nice you know

>> No.9197245

>>9197219
yeah the point is my steem is also a passive income and not dependent on the steem's growth. I just get 1 SBD daily per 3000$ invested into SP. it's like mining but no fucking with irl stuff.

You don't. It's blue collar crypto. No doubt some big farms are making money and you can make it work, you need to drop at least $100k on cards alone. And then provision custom firmware on 5000 graphics cards.

If I upgrade my PC I might just hook up a 970 and hope it makes back my electricity bills

i like steem but Dan went away to build eos so it's kinda dying

i had the idea but you know, im lazy.
Crypto is my side hoe you feel? real estate is where i make the real money. So i thought if i could passively accumulate crypto that would be nice
