My mother called me today and asked me to help her out with her 401k. The options on her paper are pretty much all flattish Vanguard funds. I'm not 100% sure how 401ks work since only boomers have 401ks and I'm still not in my dream boomer-tier job yet.

The funds on her fax paper: VWENX, VINIX, VSEQX, TASVX, RWIFX

Can someone clue me in as to how these 401k programs work exactly? I know a recession is soon, so I don't want her to lose out but I know a 401K is so long term that she can just go all-in SPY and make like 600% by the time she retires, which is far and away above any kind of earnings these funds offer.

thats what ive been fucking up on. im honestly gonna expirament with a couple different indicators and test stuff out in a papertrading version. what i got going right now isnt as good as i want. and a little practice never hurt.

other than the speculative plays on bonds and oil, the rest of my shit is tied up in REITs (which are mooning), and once they level off ill sell some calls to free up even more cash. by then ill have had some more practice, and hopefully a better strat.
