incentive to buy 25,000 shitcoins.

passive income coins like NEO are fine imo

it's the ones that require you to "lock up funds" that are scams.

ODN really solidified it for me.

users lose money to inflation and the devs print enough shitcoins to constantly be selling

>> No.9145927

in almost all cases, yes.

I would make exceptions for things where the masternode deposits are used to secure privileged operations of the node, like dash/pivx and probably stuff like payfair too.

You buy and lock up a large amount of coins as collateral. This allows you to run an MN. MNs produce small amounts of the coin you locked up, which most ppl sell. It's basically passive income for big spenders.

Not true. MNs work by verifying that the output of the collateral transaction is never spent. Most people run them on a VPS remotely with the coins on a local folder.

Masternodes suck if you don't get in early. They also suck if they don't actually do anything unique. 80% of the Masternodes (dot) online listing are effortless forks of dash or zclassic. 3rd worlders pump them out bc they are easy money.

>> No.9146649

any masternode coin is just a centralized shitcoin, that goes for anything dpos too, like eos.

if you want staking, do it properly, doing it the lazy way just shows you aren't capable of coming up with a decentralized consensus algorithm.

PoW + MN = $

This. Everyone seems to think their 80% annual ROI from PIVX fork #245 is sustainable while the coin and project serves no purpose. You need some usecase for the future if you expect any potential for the long term.

Blocknet nodes will be huge for this reason. Hoping to trade my way up to one before they get a moonshot.

Any other MN projects with a usecase beyond being ANOTHER privacy fork?

Masternodes are legit as long as you actually have to run a software for it. Some nodes like Vechain are obviously a scam because they're not nodes but just an arbitrary number of coins that don't serve any purpose in the network.
