me too man, me too. only make 12 an hour but an old woman genuinely thanked me today for "all of the hard work you do and providing this service for everyone." it's a tough kind of feel. not glamorous or well paid but being useful is better than not, so there's that i suppose

Live with mother and brother, we split a $1150 rent three ways, my share is $400 a month.

I make $1600 a month, and if I take a couple days of overtime, which I always ask for, I make $1700-1800, depending on the scheduling.

So, my car is somewhat fuel efficient, (not amazingly so) and if I carpool any of my co workers, I ask them to help me cover my gas expenses. They do cause we friends.

I shop at $$ store for food, sometimes other places, but I save tons of money on food everytime I visit dollar store, instead of paying $70 to $80 at Krogers or even Walmart, I spend $30 for same amount of food just less variety. Saves tons of money over time. Brother works, mom gets disability, we take a giant problem and nickel and dime it until it just dissapears.

The $40,000 isnt just mine, its my familys.

Learn a little stoicism, OP. I'm on the lower end of wage earners, but that's only ever going to get me down if I let it. Same with insults. If your image, your self worth, is something that you allow to be shaped by people who go OUT OF THEIR WAY to hurt you, you're going to make yourself miserable.

You don't really have any control over what people call you, but whether that makes you pink wojack is entirely up to you.
