Gonser is basically shilling chainlink in his post-SXSW write up.

>An Oracle is designed to be more than ‘just an API’. They will include a rating so that its accuracy and usage could be seen, and may in fact collect data from more than just one API so that the data can be more highly trusted. Need a maximum amount of trust? Use multiple oracles. The ‘Chainlink’ technology is being built to deliver this. So, if you want to rely on some data feed to make your payments, you will choose an Oracle over an API every time. Especially for automated contracts.

>Due to all this change, we will see some great innovation with smart contracts technology over the next several years as contracting platforms connect with blockchains, payments, and oracles, and new software categories are defined. This is exciting from an investment perspective as we seek those truly breakout companies who will deliver value on scale and in a way that can be easily deployed and consumed.
Read: buy LINK.

Also:
>As an aside, it seems natural to me that a combination of DocuSign’s platform for creating and managing legal agreements could drive a series of smart contract elements that may execute on a distributed block chain to deliver the automated execution portion.

You should buy substance and sell hype. Chainlink is the best investment specifically because they don't hype anything. But their project is literally paradigm shifting for the entire blockchain industry so who gives af about hype. That's like saying the internet will fail because the nerds who developed TCP/IP and HTTP are bad at marketing.

With chainlink you're investing in a protocol, not an app, and protocols don't need hype, they need adoption by developers and key companies. That's exactly what SmartContract has been focused on making happen. Ethereum didn't focus on drumming up hype, but you'd be dumb to not buy 50 cent ETH.

> It'll be like a stable coin
This can't happen.
One of the key innovations of Bitcoin was the idea that you have to *incentivise* people to run network nodes. It's a fundamental linchpin of crypto.
You MUST appeal to greed to incentivise node holders.

Ok, you think, maybe industry companies will have nodes and they dgaf about price, right?
Wrong!
That would end with a tragedy of the commons where everyone wants to use the network, but no one wants to commit the resources to run it.
Why would you spend a lot of resources maintaining a node, if your competitor can use the exact same network for a cheaper price?

For the network to be a success it must be economically worthwhile to run a node. This creates unavoidable buying pressure on LINK.

So imagine you have a smart contract of any kind, big money involved. The contract can only accept info from some addresses. The blockchain cannot be altered, so if the data is corrupted, the owner of those addresses would pay compensations.

Why are Oracles needed again?

If the data source is a simple API from a single source, it may be at risk of being compromised or being inaccurate. If the result is payments automatically being paid in error, this could be very bad. This is where the notion of an ‘oracle’ comes into play.

Fyi. The poster on Reddit that wrote the attached attended that Swift conference last week. He provided his thoughts on what went on at the conference. After that he was asked if he was still as bullish on Link as he was when he wrote the post you attached. His response was extremely favorable, says he feels even stronger about it than he previously did... Which is pretty encouraging to me.

Yes, go back to your make-believe bubble where everything is set for you to have the life you always wanted and the only thing you need to do is trust someone else to solve it all. There is nothing for you to do, just wait. It will all get better once you make it. Your parents will be proud of you and look up to you. Your friends will respect you and want to be on your life more often. You'll find love, be sure of it. Once you've uncovered who you really are after acquiring your wealth people will agree with you: You're the best! You’re so smart! You’re so lucky! I am so lucky to have met you, I'm always going to be by your side, and I love you. I love you. Maybe she does and maybe she won't leave. Maybe your new and old friends like you all the same and do care for you. Maybe your parents do think they did a great job raising you. Or maybe you don't have anyone at all. Even better then, because once you make it none of this will matter.

That's because everything you've dreamed of being depends on only one decision. Would you'd made it if it wasn't for this? Would you'd made it if you didn't risk being a fool for a year or two before whatever scam you're attached to succeeded? I don't think so and you don't think so either.

That's why you're still here, looking for yet another clue to lay back and be calm while you wait for the day when the rest of your life can truly begin. Keep waiting.

Right, because everyone always gets price predictions correct. He is right about $3, just got the time scale wrong.
