Some of the ICOs (which i consider scams) found a way of leeching value from the parent coin. They would list Vitalik Buterin as an advisor and take pictures with him. That implied nod of approval skyrocketed the ICO valuation until vitalik caught on and discouraged it. Still, the ICO's had to stand on their own feet from a tech standpoint. A coin that could gain the approval of parent-coin developers AND claim to be researching ways to improve the parent-coin might see similar skyrocketing valuation.

I dont want to say the name because it sounds like shilling, but there is a coin doing that right now.
