Why would LINK be valuable?

Say mainnet comes out tomorrow. Tons of users getting ready, all big companies.

Why wouldn't the crash after mooning? It's a system for decentralized oracles to provide data to dapps. If big companies don't have any dapps out, then how is LINK going to be used?

I feel like we'll probably see a big moon mission followed by a big dump when people realize staking doesn't pay shit because companies haven't finished building dapps that need oracle's yet. Then, the value should gradually increase as adoption grows, but it will be slow and during that time, there may be chainlink competitors that pop up.
