I'm with you there, anon. I was the same way in my teens, always thought the suburbs were boring and nothing ever happened there. I always imagined the cities to be these bustling places where exciting people lived and crazy shit was always happening.

Now I live in a city and yearn for the suburbs again. I yearn to be able to drive a car anywhere I please without having to worry about parking. I yearn for that peacefulness that you get in nice neighborhoods. I yearn to be able to step outside of my house again actually see trees. And I think most importantly I yearn for all that empty space - being able to just look around and see nature that no one has any intention of turning into real estate development.

I had a friend who lived in Brooklyn once. She eventually left the city and moved to the middle of nowhere. I had no idea what she would want to leave Brooklyn until I lived in the city myself. Now I crave that quiet solitude and can't blame here for wanting to leave.
