Only for the true linkers / high IQ thread

100k link marine here. Anons I need u to tell me if I'm wrong, but my feeling is that we are not supposed to be invited to the future boom of API market. Sergei knows we are here but he's hardly working right now to Revolutionize the Derivatives market and the crypto world But he's doing this for "they", the big guys and Nick S., not for us. So we just have to wait the huge wave, surely eoy when mainnet is released. I feel like we are the insiders of the biggest next revolution in crypto for the next 2-3 years. AB and the true biz detectives know it. Hold strong marines!

How many link could you buy with a couple hundred? 1000? If you were lucky?
Also, you are all going to sell between $5-$10.

This is a legitimate business solving solution for other billion dollar companies. If you need hand holding this isn't the company to be invested in.

Nah we're fucked. I'm actually starting to believing nobody gives a fuck about the oracle problem and they'll just use centralized services like we always have why switch it all up now it's easier. People are used to putting convenience and speed over security and privacy. Look at B1iq 100% efficiency they will just cryptographically sign the data with 99.99% uptime. Not sure how any platform will compete. We might be fucked.

Chainlink will compete by being trustless and decentralised. Same way that crypto will outcompete all centralised services eventually.

No joke I own 35k link. The reason the project isn't being hyped up is it would be totally contradictory to the true mission. Sergey envisions a world where people are held accountable for all their big promises and hype they speak about and don't keep. This way people who control a large amount of resources won't be able to exploit people's willingness to want to participate. API market is supposed to grow to around 2.2 Trillion and there's going to be banking regulations that makes everything compatitable with ChainLink. This will end up being a huge let down or be the biggest thing the crypto space has ever seen.

One thing I'm wary of is that making a bunch of random crypto-rich neets (fags flipping their btc gains into LINK) even richer seems like the OPPOSITE of something Sergey would want to do. From a perspective of principle.

... so that's why if you are running a blockchain function that requires external information, you need an oracle service.

CEO: ok, and you provide such a service?

Sergey: Yes, through decentralized nodes.

CEO: ok great, and you ensure the accuracy of the off chain data?

Sergey: ...no.

CEO: wtf? So what happens if we get incorrect data?

Sergey: the node operator loses LINK tokens.

CEO: Who is the node operator? What the hell are LINK tokens? Barbara, get me Oraclize on the phone.

Oraclize: Hello?

CEO: Do you provide blockchain oracles?

Oraclize: Yes, proprietary ones specific to your needs.

CEO: Do you ensure accurate off chain data?

Oraclize: Yes.

CEO: Great, book it. Sergey, you and your LINK tokens gtfo.

This coin will grow organically to $3-5 just by following bitcoins path. When Sergey’s work comes to fruition and we see mass adoption of Chainlink, it’s going to go from $5 to $1000 overnight. You’re not going to get a chance to sell at $10 or even $100. Rest assured.

you cant be this fucking stupid, right?

globocorp ceo decides to try smartcontracts on 1% of orders because it saves teh money
his underlings use zepplin_os or any of a thousand other gateways to write contract
chainlink node triggers are native to all of these gateways
"i want the most secure one"
"well we can get a consensus of 80 data providers in this space and only execute if >78 agree"
"oh yeah, by the way they're all informationally orthogonal as they have post and call triggers so they cant leach off each other"
"great, how much will that cost? few hundred thousand?"
"somewhere between 5 and 500 bucks"
ceo asks a month later how the test is going
cuts costs on these transactions 20%
since margin is 5% now making 400% more profit
ceo transitions as much as he can
his competitiors either do same or die because they can no longer compete
they get rich
the owners of the decentralized network that facilitates the actual trigger points of all of this get very rich

Oraclize themselves will be a VAR on top of chainlink for a growing segment of their APIs in a few years

>> No.9024281

Linklet NEET reporting, my first crypto was ETH at 1K+ and I don't like holding.

My understanding is that it would be redundant to build a core adaptor for the VeChainThor Blockchain because that blockchain will support their own oracles, for example, certfified community members. The certification process remains to be known. In any case, the Vechain Multi-party payment protocol allows transactions between multiple parties and can make the experience transparent to the end user, meaning he doesn't need to know what a private key is. And certified community members can work on dApps as oracle solutions to introduce real world data inside the VeChainThor Blockchain. From the article:

> For the existing blockchain networks such as BitCoin and Ethereum, the answer to multi-party payments is non-existent. This is because whenever we use the blockchain services, whether it is transferring cryptocurrency, upload data, and executing smart contracts, we have to send transactions to the network and pay for the transactions using our own account balances.

Oracles are still a challenge inside these blockchains. Publishing and executing smart contracts on the main Bitcoin blockchain is probably not a good long term solution, blockchain space could become too expensive to be that useful. Contracts could also be created off-chain and then the blockchain would only be used as a way to guarantee the trustlesness of the contract. Contracts on the VechainThor Blockchain may find a reason to speak to contracts that need to do something on other blockchains.

I agree with this anon. Having your own oracles native to the blockchain is a competitive edge you have over other smart contract platforms.

Decentralised trustless oracle data will still be fucking huge so dont worry boys.
