Interest from PoS is actually no different from holding in PoW. Just like dividend paying stocks aren't objectively better than ones who don't pay out. In the end it all comes down to basic supply and demand.

I thought about it some more and I guess that's technically not true because it seems like stakers will get a permanently-increasing percentage of total supply over the non-stakers. So there's basically a constant invisible stupid-tax on non-stakers that gets paid out to all stakers.
