I'm trying to put my free time to better (long term) use. Currently I'm thinking of learning both web development (HTML, javascript, php) and android app development (java), both absolute basics but at least enough to set up some basic websites or platforms.

I haven't any ideas of putting it to use YET, but this seems like a very useful skill in general. Also it's something I enjoy doing and I have some (very basic) knowledge.

Any other ideas of using free time in general?

Well, you could warm your chips manually in an oven eating up every second of your free time...but perhaps there's a better way....

Then use those skills to sell your chip warmer. It can be easily stored away in a cabinet if your not using it.
