Seems pretty lucrative. Keep water quality well, throw in some moss, and they explode in population. I've seen these fuckers go for like $5 a pop. Anyone have luck breeding and shipping these?

I'm not going to lie their cuteness makes me want to do it more. Was thinking of getting a couple of 40 breeders and sectioning them off in 4 parts to keep different breeds segregated. I might give it a try. If it fails I'll have a bunch of shrimp to look at.

oh yeah then you'll be fine, it would be a really easy business to run with the only difficulty being shipping and shipping costs. You could get some guarenteed revenue by contacting your local pet and fish stores and getting a contract with them for x shrimp per month whilst you set up an online shop. Set up a youtube channel too, theres quite the community and thats a way to generate passivee income and free advertising. Just yeah, find a good overnight shipping company thats the only hurdle

I am working on starting an ICO that would tokenize Shrimps on the blockchain using RFID implants. Do you think the pet stores would be interested in this? Transparent verifiable Shrimp? OP, Chickens are unironically the way to go.

Not only are they a lucrative investment as far as selling their eggs and selling their meat, but a few good, strong roosters could quite literally be your entire ROI. people pay big bucks for good genetics, not to mention they're practically pets and are actually kind of fun to look after. Best buyer movement in most markets are children. They're out in the summer and little pets like these have a higher probability to sell as long as the exposure is there. I'm in the aquarium hobby since 20 years and studied the question of breeding to make money. But i decided after a lot of research that cryptos are easier and much more gainful.

If you need to heat the water you won't make it, or move to a place you don't need to.

If you don't have enought money for a big farm and plan to do it alone at first, you have to focus on very rare and expensive specific species as discus, L46, fresh water ray, selected asian arowana , or some very selected shrimp as taiwan bee. But the breeeding will be a lot of more challenging and you could fail if you never made it as hobbyist.

If you're stuck on red cherry... it will be fucking easy to breed them but for a very little profit, you have tones of big farm already supplying shop, and it's so easy that you can check on craiglist , tones of hobbyist sell them for nothing. It's the same for guppies...

Lucky you are. Neocaridinia are the easiest shrimp to farm. You could start few tanks with different colors highly selected, as yellow , blue (very popular), in the red range choose bloody mary or red sakura (the more selected again). You will have to make your own selection because nobody will buy you your down grade breed. http://www.planetinverts.com/crystal%20red%20shrimp%20grading%20guide.html

With each shrimp tank you can also breed Planorbe sp. Corneus var Blue or red.

But you should also succed breed caridina if you want make it, more difficult it is, more the reward is https://www.floraquatic.com/crevettes-d-eau-douce/3848-caridina-cf-cantonensis-pinto-nanashi-black.html

I unironically run a shrimp biz in South America. You need a ISO certificate to be able to import and start getting good money.
Hardest part I would say was getting the initial investment money AND dealing with the fucking shrimp's mafia that is going on around here.
For the initial investment, I just took a big ass loan from the bank which is a joke to pay, since the inflation here is absurd.
I had to contact several people who were already on the biz and surprise surprise, they were the fucking goverment people. Fucking new money faggots owning almost 80% of shrimp farms here.
After some talks and bribes they let me set up an small farm with the condition of paying 3% of the earnings EOY. Fucking extorsionists.
Anyways, started breeding around 10,000 shrimpies and bought them for like $0.10 each (converted from my currency to dollar) in a land/pool that costed me $30k.
I was eager to get my Investment back, it was a hell lot of money here, so started looking for buyers asap.
Found several on Colombia and Aruba, which 5 out of 30 ended up doing biz with me.
Sold them 1kg of frozen shrimps for about $20. Got around 800kgs with those 10,000 shrimps. So, like $16,000 in 1-2 months. Ended up earning like $10,000 after costs and expenses.
