HP is cutting 30,000 jobs in order to save $2,7 billion in costs.
The current CEO is Meg Whitman, a woman.

Last time HP had such a major crashdown was back in 2005, another 30,000 people that lost their jobs whereas the CEO asked the employees to take voluntary pay cuts of which 86% agreed to do so. With that money she tripled her own salary and bought a million dollar yacht and five corporate jets.

As you probably guessed, that CEO was Carly Fiorina, also a woman that got nominated as the worst CEO ever. She's running for president now.

ex HPer here

2005 wasn't the last time HP made big cuts and/or asked people to take voluntary pay cuts. I remember that happening around 2010 as well. The CEO at the time was Mark "The Butcher" Hurd, who you may remember was later forced to fall on his sword after it was discovered he had fiddled his expenses and at the time there were allegations of harrassment of a booth babe that he was obsessed with.
