1552 nodes on the LN network and i still don't see any stores accepting it. I even asked the lady a local college town coffee shop yesterday if they accept LN payments or even just regular BTC payments and she didn't know what i was talking about.

with a few thousand nodes the explorer alone brings chrome on an i7 skylake to it's knees
so if there are hundreds of thousands of nodes instead of that many on-chain users, how does your computer actually calculate who to forge channels to and which channel to send your payment through?
It's supposed to be instant but there might be a 10 minutes of cpu time between deciding to make a payment and actually transmitting it
