The actual national average price for homes sold in March 2018 was just over $491,000, down 10.4% from one year earlier.

The national average price is heavily skewed by sales in the GVA and GTA, two of Canada’s most active and expensive markets. Excluding these two markets from calculations cuts almost $108,000 from the national average price, reducing it to $383,000 and trimming the y-o-y decline to just 2%.

the question is when? im not sure if it will even happen this decade because the governments know the disastrous consequences that will ensue, it will be a lot worse than 2008 on a global scale and they will just have to print even MORE money to bail people out.

There is a huge amount of domestic and US money waiting to jump in when there is a dip, the market is permanently fucked and the only thing that can be done is densifying the city. I've been advocating for this for a decade but NO, we need to have fucking single family homes in the downtown core worth 4 million each.

They could build a 30+ level building on one of the lots my family owns but it will never be rezoned because of the "neighborhood feel" which is absolute bullshit.
