Actual activity was down 22.7% (March17-March18).

The number of newly listed homes rose 3.3% in March.

The Aggregate Composite MLS® HPI rose 4.6% y-o-y in March 2018. This was the 11th consecutive deceleration in y-o-y gains, continuing a trend that began last spring. It was also the smallest y-o-y increase since December 2013.

The actual national average price for homes sold in March 2018 was just over $491,000, down 10.4% from one year earlier.

The national average price is heavily skewed by sales in the GVA and GTA, two of Canada’s most active and expensive markets. Excluding these two markets from calculations cuts almost $108,000 from the national average price, reducing it to $383,000 and trimming the y-o-y decline to just 2%.

Anyway I talk to the lady a bit and me and this black guy agree to help her move some kind of granite counter top from one of her houses to another as well as like a mini fridge, whatever I'm doing anything and I like the adventure so I go do that. Eventually she starts to go off about how she owns another house in the area and then another and another. I'm pretty confused because she's running airbnb and working like some peasant going to all these houses and cleaning sheets and washing shit instead of paying someone minimum wage and reaping the rewards. I get her talking and she does not shut up for like an hour and I'm too polite to tell her to just leave, she starts going on about how she borrowed money from the chinese mob to buy houses, and that since she couldn't pay the interest on her loans they were taking her houses back and selling them, She also mentioned she's had a few relationships with younger guys and one or two times they tried to divorce her and take some property from her. In this specific case she went off on jewish lawyers for another half hour and how they are friends with other jews and use those connections to pull strings wherever they can. All in all it turns out she has around 12 houses in the area, worth around 1.5-2mil as well as some property near blue mountain to rent off as a cottage.
