If TA worked then somebody could just write a computer program to automatically trade based on it and always profit.

But TA doesn't work.

you don't have to have it work all the time, just more then average. the question is would an TA bot outperform an index?

The answer is no, and your conclusion is correct if if the reasoning was wrong.

What makes you think such a program doesn't exist?

No, TA doesn't claim to be be right with 100% of trades, TA gives percentages and thus an slight edge for trading.

TA is the only tool baka ass retail investors have to translate wallstreet's actions, and the successful ones just find a single niche pattern they manage to figure out in a specific market.
Useless. Wallstreet was on that ML game a decade ago, a TA bot would look like a joke to the proprietary software they have.

There is a lot of math and some weird mental shit behind TA but when it come to timing the market to buy low sell high or to predict their price at EOY, 2,5.. years later is just pure of luck and there is no guarantee for anything even in the stock market.
And about crypto...well if y willing to loose all of your money then bring it on. But if y want to become rich in one month by day trading or stack up with a bunch under 1$ coin then wish y best luck mah friends.
>90% that y will loose all of your money and stay poor if y do all of those thing but who know m8.

there is bots that run on the stock exchange.
Its called algorithm trading. You generally need a maths degree + high performance computing knowledge to get into such jobs.

Wall Street bots don't trade based off of TA though. They comb through all of the headlines and data from day to day and trade of off that. Imagine if Google or Siri stated trading stocks based off of search results and trending topics. I don't know if it's already been said, but if you mention TA on Wall St you'd get laughed out of the room.

There are high frequency trading bots. They don't make money by trying to predict the movement of the market just like TA does, but by ripping of every traders in their path; humans and even other bots.

There are also hybrid AI trading bots. They have different algorithms for different situations. They don't use the market fitness alone, they use everything. Including recent news, google searches, tweets, and even private information harvested by surveillance companies like Facebook.
