I wake up to some texts this morning from a friend of mine in the real estate business. CoreLogic just acquired A la Mode Technoliges which uses Total (who does a massive volume of Real estate appraisals (50% of appraisers use it)

I wasn't sure how blockchain technology can be utilized for them other than smart contracts, so that was the first thing I searched.

I googled "corelogic smartcontract"

They plan on using smartcontracts specifically (not the SmartContract necessarily). CoreLogic bought LandSafe Appraisal Services, FNC, RELS, Mercury Network, A La Mode (they hold the Total appraisal service), Marshal and Swift (the premier construction cost estimating service). These guys have been buying up data services, appraisal management, and appraisal portals. This is a huge horizontal approach to the appraisal market.

Greg Dickason (general manager of property data at CoreLogic) explicitly talks about blockchain applications and smart contrcats here

http://www.afr.com/real-estate/goodbye-to-the-property-middle-man-20170131-gu2t0r

Greg specifically mentions a talking point that sergey did regarding Smart Contracts and Lawyers.

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/blockchain-400-words-less-end-legal-profession-smart-greg-dickason It's interesting that this same point was addressed at the SXSW conference recently.

The name of the the SXSW speech was "Smart Contracts -Are we Getting Rid of Lawyers" It's not an uncommon question in the smartcontract discussion, but the chances that Greg (the guy in connecting the blockchain research team to the data management team) has or will encounter Sergey's work is VERY high. The first mover in the decentralized Oracle space that seems to be well connected with Docusign, Swift, and Salesforce is certainly a candidate that Greg should be familiar with.

In the comments of this link Greg broaches the topics of articles very briefly.

This doesn't mean that CoreLogic will be using LINK for its Oracle, but it does mean that some large players have been thinking about smart contracts for a while (CoreLogic as early as 2015. Maybe earlier.)

I'm starting to really feel the fud on this. It's completely dark from the developers side with fuck all update, its actually something thats never been implemented so no guarantee it will be adopted, plus I don't see anyone else talking about it apart from some nice memes. Hands getting very weak

Then you sell. Do yourself a favor and sell now.

If you do not share the vision then there is no point in buying just because of a meme you saw on /biz/. You never once had true faith in your investment. Those with true faith are unwithered by FUD because they already believe the implications of their investment.

I believe in the product going forward but I have doubts these guys can fulfil it's mass adoption. My first thought on the silence and lack of update was that this was under wraps and top secret but then again it could be simply it's too small a team way out of their depth who can't even begin to make time to communicate with investors as they are stretched as things are. What's wrong with wanting updates on your investment rather than blind faith

Theres nothing wrong with it. And I can see where you are coming from.

If you believe in this type of technology going forward, but unsure the team can deliver, your best course of action would be to hedge your current investment into other oracle providers, NOT selling your assets off completely.

Your options are limited.

Oracalize-no publicly traded coin/token
witnet- PoW but the network is not yet released.
Mobius- I said it

there really is not a whole lot. LINK is by far ahead of the competition in my humble opinion.

If you want to diversify in others not including oracles, look into bridging. Specifically AION.
