Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

gotta add, i havent done much looking into MS, but they DID just break their trend line, and like BAC, are showing serious weakness going into ER. and being a big bank that didnt learn its lesson last time, they have certainly been lending all kinds of risky loans to all kinds of people/companies that, by all means, should not be lent to.

but definitely keep an eye on them going into ER. im going to at the very least play a straddle.

the part that really makes my blood boil is the targeting of underage kids. ESPECIALLY considering the forcing them to take HRT. im not even against trannys (though i dislike the giving children anti androgens). but this guy went one further than the quack doctors, as he was forcing them to take actual full on HRT. bear in mind how quickly permanent sterilization can happen in underage kids with even just AAs. then add Estrogen on top of that. makes me fucking sick. but for once i feel actual gratitude towards the feds, seeing them actually doing their jobs, and going after a legitimate threat and not some random, harmless shitposter on the internet.

JPM dropped apparently due to slightly missing profit targets (very slightly). They beat on revenue and earnings per share targets.

Wells Fargo may also have to pay a fine, so it dropped as well.

In a true bull market, those things should not have had such a drastic impact on the market.

Frankly, I think the more likely reason things dropped was not because of some fundamental reason (that's just being used as some explanation by commentators/media). Sellers are clearly trying to maintain the downward trend line on the daily timeframe (which can be seen on the Dow/SP500). It was a case of "selling the news".

This officially a bear market, in my mind. Earnings will not do anything to help if this is the precedent that's set.

Nice.

Okay, Canadian weed update after hours edition:

BULL RUN HAS BEGUN. There was a major catalyst today thanks to one Donald. A Donald. The Donald. It seems to Colorado senator Cory Gardner has received notice from the Trump in chief that he (the drumpfer) will back state rights in the matter of marijuana legalization. That means, essentially, that attorney general Jefferson Sessions can go fuck himself with or without the horse he may or may not have rode in on. Trump also wishes to pursue legislation to secure states' rights in this regard in a more official way than promises and assurances of no fed interference. Article here:

I would at least need to see breaks of important moving averages on the daily timeframe before considering such positioning, that has not occurred yet.

By precedent I meant that it may now be the idea in many people's' heads to sell into strong earnings reports, and get out of the market, rather wait for a pump. Military actions are not necessarily bad for the market. Oil typically gets a boost from them. Since this is probably another salvo of missiles against some military asset(s) in Syria, it shouldn't have a major affect on the stock market. I imagine the thinking is it's a similar deal to the last Syria strike; many many missiles, little bit of finger waving and don't do that again or you'll get the business, little bit of grumble from Russia, but no escalation of conflict in so far as US involvement is concerned for now. Market isn't likely to freak out unless Trump orders some kind of escalation in the form of ground troop deployments and more direct things like that.

If you don't want to call it a bear market, that's okay, I'm not here to argue on technicalities. Fact is, it's not going up (it's downtrending on the daily timeframe), even with news that should provide at least some stability.

If you believe that's due to volume being low, and not Trade Wars, Interest rate concerns, and and now Syria, that's fine too. I'm also now seeing more commentators stating: "Ah! of course the market's falling it was overvalued, tax reform was already discounted", as sentiment sours, while all of last year year it was about "global growth". Honestly, I don't think anyone knows what the fuck they're talking about. I am simply going by the news events the market is responding to, but the idea of lower volume is just as valid.

Wars always bring short term uncertaincy, but on the long run it depends on the kind of conflict. If the US is securing key resources (ie oil rigs) it might even benefit the markets.

But I think you are underestimating the Russians. I fear they have gone full cornered cat, on the middle of recession receiving heavy fines with their diplomats expelled everywhere. And the hacking scandal lul. And yet Putin won with a 60%+ votes. He might just double down.

Of all the days for the strikes to occur, now is the worst possible time for TVIX.

Two full days for the invested to digest what happened and potentially realize this shit is nothing. Unless there is a definitive response from Iran/Russia, it will fade shortly from memory.
