He actually has some good points. The amount of shilling for LINK on 4chan alone should be enough to make anyone suspicious.

>> No.8864442

I cannot watch the whole video.

I'm a blockchain developer and I've read ChainLink's white paper.

It is more of a centralized oracles platform than a decentralized oracle.

There's HUGE security challenges with it, you gotta just trust a couple of nodes with good reputation in the end I guess, which is totally centralized.

The theory behind it is just dumb and doesn't solve problems for real, I guess they just want to throw the "le solving the oracle problem" with no real solutions to cash out off the idea.

You still can hold and profit off ChainLink tho since a lot of people believe in it.

Don't (you) me.

>> No.8864483

For people who can't be bother watching the video:
Fist half of the video guy says:
1) TA is retarded, which is true but I don't understand why that is significant to LINK
2) Talks about reading the white paper and how it is retarded, yet doesn't mention why it is retarded
3) Talks about shit posters and meme magic associated with the coin. Is this faggot such a brainlet that he thinks this what we actually believe and why the coin will do well?
4) Keeps going off on tangents and then talks about how he'll get to that later
Second half of the video:
1) Gives some valuation on the potential of LINK based on master card transactions
2) Spends most of the time talking about shitposters and how LINK is a cult

I guess it’s worth noting that the coin has a following on here but it’s not like anyone takes it at face value. it’s obviously all very tongue in cheek. no one needs that explained to them. this guy is a pompous asshole

"The ChainLink network utilizes the LINK token** to pay ChainLink Node operators for the retrieval of data from off-chain data feeds, formatting of data into blockchain readable formats, off-chain computation, and uptime guarantees they provide as operators. In order for a smart contract on networks like Ethereum to use a ChainLink node, they will need to pay their chosen ChainLink Node Operator using LINK tokens, with prices being set by the node operator based on demand for the off chain resource their ChainLink provides, and the supply of other similar resources."

That's a long way of saying that the only actual use for the Chainlink token is to be bought by those who use it's Oracle. So the only people who will buy Chainlink to actually use it are those who need to pay a small transaction fee to the Oracle. On the other hand, things like Bitcoin are bought to be used as money. Global currencies have valuations in the trillions of dollars. Chainlink is just a niche financial transaction company. This means its maximum market cap is in the millions. So while Bitcoin still has room to increase its price 100x, Chainlink is already at its max valuation and it doesn't even have customers yet.

>didnt take into account billions if not trillions of dollars a year are spent on exchanging value, therefore offer billions of savings to companies who use them.
>didnt't account for the fact that if a number of entities want to perform large transactions of value (complex financial instruments (i.e. derivatives)), but are all using their own private oracles, then the trustless exchange is not achieved and the smart contract is pointless.

>chainlink is just a niche financial transaction company that doesnt amount to anything.

He's right in his philosophy but doesn't understand the coin. Chainlink isn't special because it's an oracle, it's because its decentralized. Comparing it to other oracles is like comparing horses to cars saying cars have too much competition. Chainlink's decentralization makes it far more trustworthy than any other oracle.

>> No.8866915

>>8865311
Brotha, take a look at the total money supply in the whole world. Scroll down to the bottom for derivatives. Chainlink is targeting to create the smart contract for derivatives markets which is multi trillion dollar market. For such a large transactional value, you can not trust a centralized oracle or a data source and needs decentralized End to End solution and hence ChainLink like solution. At the moment there is no competitor to ChainLink. In future there may be but ChainLink will have a first movers advantage.
