I heard it was the bridge between ethereum and real internet, so i installed it, wanting to be a madboy and try the epic internet 2.0

What am I meant to do? Is this shit basically just a wallet like myetherwallet? Skeptical about putting my eth into this desu

i thiiiiiink it just keeps your private key in an encrypted way.. please correct me if i'm wrong as i'm almost as dumb as OP is.
metamask enables you to send your cryptos anyplace without the need of using your private key (keyloggers, le hacking meme, etc), you just gotta login into metamask.

In terms of security it goes like this:

Web wallets > MetaMask > Desktop wallet > Cold storage

Even a web wallet that uses all client-side crypto (like MEW) can be safe. As long as you aren't stupid, or MetaMask is compromised by the devs or a browser exploit you're fine.
