See pic related. This guy started fudding bitcoin 6 years ago, with muh tulips, muh useless, etc etc, because it's funny. Seeing his post history he's still fucking around on r/buttcoin. HOLY FUCKING SHIT

You can laugh all you want at people who bought bitcoin at 20k $. But at least they decided to do something, they probably didn't know about btc before and sooner or later they will make a profit.

But holy shit, guys from r/buttcoin? You knew about bitcoin when it was 10$ 100$ 1000$ 5000$ and you never bought? They preferred to make jokes instead of money? Now they are happy it dropped from 20k to 6k? lmao, this is so pathetic

Cognitive dissonance is a real thing. When reality shows you that your image of the world is completely wrong your mind cannot accept that your perception is so fucking wrong that it starts hallucinating ways to explain why you are right and what you see and hear is wrong.

These guys believed to the core that Bitcoin was no different than internet vidya game money which is what a lot of people, including myself thought. Because it's not real money and just a bubble fuelled by greed, it cannot be worth $1.....$5......$10.....holy shit $100....$800!?!? Nononono.

You mean to tell me I could have invested 10k and already be retired!? No this can't be real...it'll drop any day now.

5k

We are at the peak! Then it hits 8k and to 20k. These guys could have been rich beyond their dreams if they just looked into it themselves instead of going off what the MSM told them. But no, the media is right, this is monopoly money, drug and child trafficking money, it's a tulip, Trump cannot win....... now we are at "blockchain is worth looking into...but buttcoin is still bad, don't risk it."

I feel sorry for these guys. They are prisoners of their own feeble minds and posting on Reddit is the only way they can cope with the dreary of their lives.

Cash is the defacto tool for human trafficking and the drug trade. Using bitcoin doesn't really support it. It's just a tool that was occasionally used for silk road purchases. As a currency it's still pretty useless. If this was used for human trafficking, it was probably found to be a bad tool. Human trafficking channels likely know each other and will be there between transport. You know what doesn't have an immutable and public ledger that records every transaction????? Dollars. There's no reason for it to be used with child trafficking. It's a tool for that

Not only that, but using it doesn't somehow make you support the infrastructure of the drug trade or human trafficking (even if a significant portion of that was done with blockchain technology [it's not, dollars are far easier to deal with]).

This is actually such a stupid reason to avoid bitcoin that its hard for me to wrap my head around that someone thinks like this. In any case, I understand that you are likely fearful of a speculative (potentially zero sum game), emergent technology with limited regulation. It's smart to be fearful about things that are new and that you dont understand.

However, you should make an effort to understand them. It's crazy that you've been aware of it so long but haven't looked at the applications of the technology.

I mean specifically, what are the advantages of a public and immutable ledger with decentralized validation?
Bookkeeping. Automated bookkeeping. Not currency. It's too volatile and speculative. Automated bookkeeping; That's what smart contracts are.

There is ethical money to be made here. Lots of it. I'm just happy that people like you won't see a dime.

Traffickers are not using tokens of any sort, and if they are it's worse than physical cash.

Cash cannot be tracked, friend. I dont think that you understand how that works.

CP distributors and online drug traders may use blockchain assets. I can see that, but using it does not support the industry.

I was just annoyed by the spamming of "this is good for bitcoin" and that (back in the days) so many bitcoiners had the idea that bitcoin would replace Fiat/the government/create a new world order/end corruption etc. To me the bitcoin community looked like a cult (ignoring all the issues of the coin as currency etc)

Also I found it quite funny to make fun of the delusional bitcoiners (pic related).

Nowaydays everyone is just in for the quick buck, which makes more sense and the idealistc bitcoiners are pretty much dead.

And yeah I still hate coins like but kick myself in the balls for not "investing" in ehter, which I I was interesting in on a technical level. Read pretty much how the turing complete computer worked etc and its mechanics but I was too blinded by my annoynace of bitcoin to invest in. Also there were only ponzi schemes or gambling dapps back then thus saw no potential for he coin.

Well, yeah, because the retards around here aren't making money any more. You're sneering at them for hanging around doing nothing, when 99% of /biz is doing pretty much the same.
I'm old enough to have seen several bubbles inflate, then pop. Bitcoin is just another bubble .- yes, the early adopters and the lucky made money. Then the P&Ders made money. Now it's the margin traders and scammers. Same as housing, same as Petco, same as any of them. The problem is the insufferable smugness of those who had nothing to do with the bubble, got in too late to reap the rewards, but demand and expect the same success and rewards as the others. Sorry, pal, that train left the station in January, and all that's left is a crowd of snotty autists who think they're never going to have to leave the house again. We're watching Bitcoin die, so yeah, the idiots running around spewing "100K EOY!" are FUCKING FUNNY AS FUCK. I get why /buttcoin exists, I just come here to mock you directly, instead of on that (other) lame site.
Honest here - I was in no position to buy in last year, or the years before. Won't go into why, other than "taking care of dying parent". I looked into seeing what action there was in January, and it's been "Stay the fuck away" ever since, because I saw it for what it was, without greed and mania coloring my perspective. My hunch was right then, and is right now - not risking my cash on a dying asset.

Can that change? Sure. My hunch is, not any time soon. The 2017 run up was a once in a lifetime bubble I missed, and since I couldn't do anything about it, I just shrug and move on - and laugh my ass off at the desperation and denial here.
That's what 4chan is - you're either the entertainment, or you're the audience. I'm the audience. You must be the clown. Now go post a despair thread, so we can laugh at you.
