Because math, if the trade goes against you, you're losing money that you loaned so it has to stop you out before you lose margin and with 50x you don't have a lot of room

Possibly idk, I just look at the actual liq price and determine how manageable it is.

Liquidation is based on your usable equity in your margin account. The more equity you have the further away your liquidation price is. Obviously the more leverage you take the tighter your liquidation price is. There are more factors in figuring out your liq price than just how much you leveraged.
