Let's say you have a blank cheque, and can print as many dollars as you can. Like a federal reserve. Imagine that a deflationary asset class enters the market. Not only is it deflationary, but you can't fucking control it, and print endless amounts of it.
However, you can buy up this asset class with your infinite amount of worthless dollars. You have a limited window of time to do this.

Do you: a) buy a fuckload of this asset on exchanges, causing an overnight mania as the price skyrockets several times over
or b) Force the price down and short the fuck out of it. Not only do you gain much more BTC than you would on the way up, but you get the added bonus of psychological manipulation.

"Oh no, that bitcoin thing is falling! it was a scam, wasn't it?"
"I'm down 70%, should I just sell?"
The ONLY goal is to gain more bitcoin. Dollars don't fucking matter anymore, I know it doesn't make any sense to hear that right now but soon it will. Just buy as much BTC as you can, play their price game before they pump it without you.

>someone with a lot of btc wants to sell
>to offload that much volume quickly, seller sells to buy deep into the book into orders that are well below current price
>buyers refuse to buy above price it has just been selling at out of self interest

you know how wholesalers will accept selling below msrp when they can guarantee they will get their product off the shelf? same concept.

price movements of a hundred dollars seems like a lot to poor commoners like you and me, but its only a fraction of a percent when btc is 6 grand.

if there really was an omnipotent political interest in suppressing btc, it would be outlawed, not these little nudges in price. over the longer term, its a speculative bubble due to pop. you think BTC was just going to magically increase on price indefinitely?

i dont know why /biz/ is able to accept tulip mania as a natural phenomenon but crypto mania is somehow a giant conspiracy

If BTC keeps getting rejected at $6500 - expect another dump.
Don't buy now, wait

We'll see 4k, and that's optimistic. As if they'd pump this thing without having everyone in despair, panicking, and most importantly hating bitcoin. then we 40k before you know it. This is seriously what I expect to happen.

Just let it happen and accept it. Suppression is a good thing. They'll let it fly eventually.
