OP is right, but you could have seen it coming last night and this morning before the markets opened with the latest news out of Asia.China closed lower so there are a bunch of inverse ETF's you could have taken to capitalize on it. A new doom n' gloom report came out about Iranian oil, so you could have capitalized on that by picking up DWTI at $95 and DTO.

I watched it yesterday, where it bounced along at approximately $95 for maybe two hours before close. That signaled the bottom to me, at least after yesterday's volatility resulting from the OPEC statement and the EIA statement about US production. You know? Like If it was going to go lower based on those two pieces of info, it would have kept declining all the way to close - but it didn't.

So then last night I watched the asian markets respond to the oil prices and I noticed oil started going lower again, so that was kind of a soft-signal to look at DWTI again. Then about 8:30am this morning I read a report on the front page of Bloomberg about Iranian preparing to dump oil, and I knew I wouldn't have been the only one to read that article or others like it. So I quickly bought approximately $2000 worth of DWTI before the markets opened, just happened to be about 27 units or so.

tl;dr, I knew oil would be down on yesterday, just not how much.

I really think oil can go a lot lower. People are slowly starting to realize what a huge glut we have on our hands. When China and emerging markets decline, demand goes down. At the same time, we have US producers recouping costs, generating cash flow as best as they can, pumping like their lives depend on it. And then we have Iran.

Lol I'm kidding, I know DWTI has been ridiculously volatile for the last few weeks. I ran off with an 11% gain on it last week but lost about 1% today. That big gain was a fluke actually, I forgot to sell before the markets closed on the 21st.
