What went wrong with Monero? Did it stop being the currency used in the dark web?

>> No.8776433

it doesn't really need to be worth $300 for people to use it to buy things anon

>> No.8776979

>>8776433

But, drug use is increasing? And there is a limited supply of XMR?

>> No.8776986

>>8776979
if you buy XMR, send it to someone, and they sell it as fast as they can without much regard for the price, why should the price ever increase? more drug use doesn't mean XMR is gonna spontaneously increase in value

>> No.8777017

>>8776986
in any coin holders act as a non-cooperating cartel. price-agnostic demand in the coin (i.e. people buying it quick to send it to someone who sells it quick) makes the coin better to accumulate a position in relative to a coin with less of this type of demand

if criminals are really the ones with the biggest use case they'd have the most reasons to devalue it.

1) It is dependent on BTC
2) The Shakedown of all the privacy coins
3) Monero is entirely traceable

Zcash isn't a real monero competitor. Imagine how retarded he has to be to ADMIT THIS TO EVERYONE instead of just keeping his mouth shut and secretly catching criminals.

that's unbelievable. I hadn't seen that. I know JPM is involved with zcash supposedly so it could get pumped. imo at the highest levels it was conceived solely to deal with the monero problem

Wow, you guys are so uninformed here it's amazing. No wonder miners rule the cryptosphere.

Monero has been being dragged down by a MASSIVE virus bot network. An extremely large % of the network hashrate is botnets - and all they do is dump, they are not hodlers.

This is bullish though long term, Monero can operate at any cost basis because it steals its mining cost.

kinda sad that lebbit mods banned /r/darknetmarkets because im too soft and gay to download tor. they were some of the best monero shills out there, pushing vendors and marketplaces to get rid of btc and implement monero.
since the big dnm crackdown, there still hasn't been a huge market to fill the void left by alphabay.

once the dnms are up and thriving again, i'll definitely be looking into XMR. if we can get basically an alphabay 2.0 that takes XMR, this shit is doing what btc did back in 2013 imo.

also i guess something something north korea is mining millions of dollars of monero and i doubt they're falling for the hodl meme. shit prolly just goes straight to the market.
